  • Great pressure cooker!!

    I have been using this for a couple of weeks and it is great!! I like that is not too heavy despite the size. It is very fast, what I use to cook before in three hours takes me about 20 minutes now. Good value...

  • Doew what it says on the can

    Can't find Pressure Canners in UK so was pleased when ordering & paying for item from abroad there was little hassle & excellent delivery time. Being used to a pressure cooker hissing away constantly using the canner for first time with its occasional hiss had me wondering if I'd done it correct. I must have done because I now have a few litres (sorry quarts) of cassoulet for a ready made meal when I get home from the allotment in the summer. Excellent product: excellent service: excellent fun> Now what's next to can???

    Years ago I had canned a lot. I decided to give it up and gave my canner to my daughters. When the "Canning Bug" hit me again I needed to replace my canner. This was the best value I found, especially with free shipping. I have used it a lot this past week and have had no problems. I would recommend it to anyone, whether they are new to canning or replacing othere equipment

  • Pressure Cooker/Canner

    Haven't gotten to use this yet but plan to do a lot of canning this year. Will be my first time with a pressure canner, and looked for a reasonable priced and sized one which this is. The only thing I wished, the description didn't mention that this couldn't be used on a glass top, which was one of the main reasons I bought it. Now will have to buy a camping burner to use it with but on second thought, might be the best thing; keep all the hot air outside.

  • Gasket was upside down.

    The enclosed booklet is poorly written and seems to contradict itself in a couple of instances. If I had not had a friend who was able to trouble shoot the problem with my cooker/canner when it arrived and was put into use for the first time I would have been forced to return the product. The problem? The gasket was installed upside down in the supposedly unused product. Was it a return or a manufacturing problem? I don't know. But I do know the potential problem was not address on the website or in the enclosed booklet.

Thank goodness a friend was here who spotted the problem for me but it still caused a huge delay in the overall process of canning.

Do you have any way to check- the 92122 model was discontinued by Mirro and replaced by 92122A, which is slightly shorter and has an indented bottom. The new 92122A is not tall enough to accommodate 2 layers of pint jars for waterbath canning, and it has an indented bottom so it is no longer suitable for glass-top cookstoves. I have ordered this canner twice in the last two weeks from other vendors (listed as the old model on their sites- 92122, which IS the one I want) and received 92122A instead. Which model is this? Is someone at Overstock able to look at the actual box and confirm that the model you're selling is the old model, 92122, and NOT the new model 92122A? If it is the old model 92122, then I do want to order it. I don't want to order it only to find out it's the wrong model and then have to pay return shipping. when they say the capacity is 22 quarts it means how many quarts of liquid the entire canner holds to the rim, it doesn't have anything to do with how many quart canning jars it hold, nor even how many quarts of food you can cook in the canner if you were using it as a pressure cooker, not canner. The accepted convention of measurement of cookware..pots, pans, pressure cooker/canners are measurements in quarts (32 liquid quarts US) that the pot/pan will hold if filled up to the rim with water. That amount is then listed as the "capacity" of the product. The 22 quarts this thing holds if filled to the rim is not the recommended maxium amount they recommend to cook in the pressure cooker, like if you were making beans or soup. If you then wanted to can that product you would put it into a canning jar and place the lids on it and process it for the recommended time in the jars in the pressure canner. Unfortunately they do not tell you in the description of this particular pressure canner how many jars, pint or quart, that it holds. At best all I can say is resubmit yur question asking specificially how many pint jars or quart jars it holds and see if they can tell you, or look it up on another site and see if they tell you, or see if you can find a manufacturers site and see if they list the product and description or write to them and ask them.
