Photo misleading & I am returning item.
I'm very disappointed as I found it unusable. I considered spreading it across two windows, but would need two valances for that & the problem remains. I am returning the valances.

- How accurate was the on site description of the product? The site shows a flat valance, but the actual item is 50" wide requiring gathers on rod. It is heavy duck cloth & does not lend itself to gathers.

Cute and classsy
These valances are well made of a heavy fabric, and totally lined. They ave an elegant look to them, and yet are nicely informal for a family room. We hung them over three tall windows in our FR which is open to our black-and-white kitchen, and they are the perfect complement for the entire space. They look very expensive and tailor made.

I absolutely LOVE this valance! I have hung it over my kitchen sink. It is perfect and hangs down just low enough. I've received many compliments on it. It gives my kitchen the euro, french vibe I was looking for! I would recommend to others!!

Wow! Wow! Wow!
Gorgeous! Well-made! Excellent quality with a sewn solid-black backing so light doesn't show through. Hung beautifully right out of the packaging - no need to iron. Incredibly low price! I installed two of these valances side-by-side in a sports-themed bedroom that had two huge windows on one wall. Because the drapery pole was so long, extending about a foot past the window on each side, I draped a long, black, sheer window scarf on both ends, which really helped to warm up the room and looks great with the valances. The effect if fabulous - these valances are eye-popping and really make the room. This sports-themed bedroom is inside a vacation rental that I own, so people pay a lot of money to stay here and their expectations are high. These valances do not disappoint. Be not afraid, dear shopper, to make this valance your own!

Nice but more for a patio
Although I liked the valances a lot they were just too bold for my application; they made the small kitchen windows smaller; this would be an excellent valance for a patio eating area or even outdoors. I just need something a little more subtle for my room.
