My husband and I saw one of these in a store and loved the looks of it. We found the refurbished ones here on sale for $50 less, so we were really excited. "Refurbished" tends to indicate there was a problem that got fixed and now it's like new. Microwave #1 Bought it, it arrived, we set it up, and something seemed a little off with the door. It would catch when I hit the button to open it and required extra force to close it. Upon closer inspection, I discovered the opening for the lower catch in the door was bent, preventing it from opening and closing correctly. That was annoying, and it got old fast. We returned it after a couple of days and they sent us a new one free of charge. Microwave #2 So happy to get our new microwave. Pulled it out of the box and it was a tad grungy--I'm not sure if it had been sitting out somewhere or someone just failed to clean their used one before sending it back. It wasn't too bad, so we set it up and plugged it in. And looked at the digital read-out, which flashed and then dimmed suddenly. By evening, it had faded completely off, and would only come on if you punched in numbers before disappearing again. This is was why we were replacing our old microwave in the first place: the screen had died. We woefully packed this one up and shipped it back for a refund. As far as the inner workings go, it's really not that impressive and doesn't cook all that astoundingly fast or evenly. Our 10-year-old unit is actually more efficient time-wise. The Panasonics seems to work better, so I would tend to look at those before you go with this one.

Pass on this one...it's huge....loud, beeps 4 times when ready...piercing beeps...just plain big. I should have shopped around more, the only good thing are the quick cook buttons for 1 min, 2 min, and so on. There are better products out there.

I purchased this microwave as a replacement for a Samsung machine which I had used since 1978. The Samsung machine had 10 power levels, a temperaturwe probe for cooking and a built-in defroster mode. All-in-all it was very satisfactory. The Cuisinart machine has several single touch cooking buttons (1-6) It has dedicated buttons for items such as popcorn I believe the Cuisinart machine to be more powerful in terms of cooking watts. So I have had to learn to be more creative in using the power levels. So far I rate this machine as an outstanding value.
