Good with Some Padding
ple123  from Northern CA,  Nov 11, 2009
We bought this for a guest bed. The product is very well made and was assembled without too much difficulty. The quality is very good. It is very hard though and that is my main objection. This bed can be made comfortable though with the addition of a 3-4 inch mattress pad. So, while not ideal, it fits the bill for us. I just wouldn't be able to sleep on it as is, without the addition of more padding.

Good alternative
charlotte0810  from Charlottesville VA,  Nov 9, 2009
Though pretty hard, the bed is solid and substantial, a worthy factor in a fold-up bed. The mechanics of folding up and folding out are smooth and smart. I'll be adding layers of Thermarest and/or other padding under a sheet (twin is too large but can be clipped together underneath) and it'll be just fine. I just slept on it for three nights to test it out for guests, adding layers each night. It'll be just fine as long as I let people know it's not really wide and a bit firm:)

A Rose by Any Other Name
theodosia7  from Greensboro, NC,  Nov 9, 2009
I read all the other reviews before I purchased this roll-away and have come to the conclusion that for the most part your customers know what they are talking about. This bed is hard and the instructions are a bit confusing. Other than that, I'm glad I bought it. It will serve it's purpose and was inexpensive. A nice cushion and my mom will be set. It is a bit low to the ground, which was not something I thought about but, oh well. Like I said, it works.

Easy fold a bed
linylou  from Santa Barbara, CA,  Nov 1, 2009
Great little lounger! The mattress is on the firm side but still comfortable and keeps its shape. Neat little hideaway bed. Easy up and down, too. I got the red one and love it! Perfect condition upon delivery, too.

fine for lounging
knotnormol  from regular shopper,  Jun 21, 2009
I bought this bed, not for guests to sleep on, but as something to lounge on in our Sun Room. I bought a full-size memory foam topper and folded in half, covered it with a fleece blanket, and put it on the bed to make it more comfortable. The mattress is very firm, but from reading the reviews before I purchased it, I had expected that already. I don't know what it would be like to sleep on it, but that is not what I bought it for. (My two cats don't have any complaints about it, though...lol.) Assembly is easy; my nephew, who is 11 years old, assembled it together in a very short time. All in all, I would recommend it for someone wanting a small bed that is easy to put together, and for lounging on and watching TV or reading.

Not a bad looking piece, and it takes up little space when it is folded up, wheels easily. Tilting back is a nice feature. Lacks useful assembly instructions and is too hard a surface for comfortable sleeping. You will want to add a thick foam pad, as others have mentioned. Not hard to assemble once you look at the photos here on overstock, and read the review on this item that explains assembly. BTW the four thick round bushings are spacers for rails that bolt onto the side.

Took a while but...
burghbaby  from Pittsburgh, PA,  Feb 24, 2009
Once I got past the broken plastic pieces and missing washers it was relatively easy to assemble (if you could understand the pictures). The topper is a good idea. I'm using it in a sliver of a space that is called the second bedroom but is really the office and bathroom.

I LIKE IT!!!
embry  from Cleveland, OH,  Feb 13, 2009
I just received the bed on 1/24/08 and actually, the bed is not difficult to put together, figuring out what goes where is the problem. I think I figured it out, although I have NO idea where to put the 4 black, round, plastic things (I don't know the technical term). INSTRUCTIONS: To install the 2 wheeled legs for the bottom, use 2 washers and 2 LONG screws for each leg. The two long 18" (I think) objects are RAILS that should be installed on the sides of the bed at the bottom section (you'll see the two holes on teach side). Use the 4 SHORT screws for the rails. The remaining piece with the 3 wheels on it, goes on the front of the bed (where your head lays). Use the remaining long screws and washers to install. I HOPE this helps you. It should really only take about 15 minutes or less. Good Luck!!! If you purchase, which I recommend, I also recommend getting a mattress pad. I am ordering the 3" Serta from this site. In the meantime, I've been using a 1 inch, which is NOT comfortable at all.

It's a good cot
potter1  from Portland, OR,  Feb 6, 2009
I would not call it a bed, but a very handy cot. It's very firm and certainly needs a pad to have someone actually sleep on it. Otherwise, it's a great price, very easy to store away. It's also a bit lower to the ground than I expected, but again, a very handy thing to have in a home.

I purchased this in July and it has been used many times by guests and by me. I even wheeled it out onto the patio to read and/or nap. I had a friend put the thing together after minimally trying to myself. I too found the thin mattress to be lacking BUT thanks to the thoughtful recommendation of another reviewer I also purchased a 2 inch foam topper . It is very comfortable with the topper. It is very durable. It is nice looking. Can't beat the price.

At first I thought I would need help assembling the bed because there were no instructions, but once I got started I was able to put it together in less than 30 minutes. I found it comfortable enough to sleep on for one night but would need extra cushioning for longer periods of time. Its also useful as a lounge chair and is a very attractive addition to my patio furniture.

Great product!
bjm8085  from Virginia,  Jul 3, 2008
This is really a great product. It is easy to assemble, set up and take down. However, all the folks that say it's hard are right. Given that I was warned, I cannot now complain. I am tempted to get another to have when our kids have friends sleep over. Absolutely no complaints.

Bad assembly Instructions
dmarieoceanshores  from Lynnwood, Washington,  Jun 14, 2008
I love the bed. The assembly instructions are one page of parts with absolutely no words. This bed is mostly put together, You have to put on the end rail and the wheels and through trial and error you will figure which gets washers etc. I still have one part a long silver bolt-like thing with a chain, it looks like a locking part that goes into a hole to lock the bed in place. Unfortunately I can't find the hole it goes to. This is a great bed for a guest room. It's back comes up so you can use it like a chaise lounge. It folds up nicely and rolls around easily.

I bought this for my mom, who is staying with us for a month. When I received it, it had no assembly instructions, which I found frustrating. But, after staring at it for a few minutes, I figured out how to put it together --- it was pretty intuitive. It looks nice for a hideaway bed and it stores well (it is folds up nice and thin and has a dust cover). It is also quite sturdy, which was my concern when looking at other hideaway/rollaway beds. However, it is pretty hard. The foam cushion does not have much give. For use as a bed, I would highly recommend adding a mattress pad. I already had a twin sized 2-in memory foam mattress pad with a featherbed cover, which I put on top of this bed. My mom has been sleeping on it now for a couple of weeks and said it is very comfortable. She especially likes that she can raise the head of the bed so she's not lying completely flat. So, unless you or your guests like sleeping on hard surfaces, purchase a foam pad to use atop this bed.

PRETTY NICE ITEM, MY DAUGHTER PICKED PINK .THIS CAME SO QUICK, I REALLY COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW FAST THEY SHIPPED . ARRIVED PERFECT. EASY , NOT MUCH TIME REALLY AT ALL TO PUT TOGETHER . STURDY , WELL MADE .IT WAS FOR MY DAUGHTER'S APT . AT SCHOOL .TAKES UP LITTLE ROOM AND FOLDS UP NEATLY.. IT IS FOR A YOUNG PERSON, AS IT IS WAY TOO HARD FOR ME TO SLEEP ON. NOW I WOULD USE AS A POOL LOUNGER. BUT , WOULD NOT WANT TO RUIN THE MICROFIBER. SO FOR A KID OR YOUNG PERSON ,IT IS PERFECT.IT IS NOT WIDE , I WOULD ROLL OFF TOO ... SO DON'T BUY IT FOR GRANDMA TO SLEEP ON .I AM SATIFIED VERY MUCH , BUT REMEMBER IT IS A VERY HARD ( NO GIVE ) SURFACE...
