Michelle Moate studied at Wesleyan College in Macon and at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. In 1997 she began to bring her works to the art market and became a premier local artist. In 2002 she was nominated for national recognition through the Academy of Fine Art Foundation's fine arts award program. Moate has attended the Art Expo New York in 1998, 1999 and 2002, and consistently donates art to various charities. Moate currently paints at her home-based studio in Okeechobee, Florida.

The painting was a bit lighter than indicated on the computer but other than that was lovely-- it was a gift to a horse owner who really appreciated it. I had to have it framed- that would have been a nice option from overstock...
