I read the reviews before ordering, and had a 50-50 chance of being happy or disappointed... Although I have only had this desk for a few hours, I am very happy with it... Only took about an hour to put together (I had a few distractions)... Seems very sturdy and strong... The complaints about the imperfections of the surface of the wood are somewhat misleading... The desk is marketed as "Distressed" or "Reclaimed" and that is exactly how they are made... The "Imperfections" are intentional... If you are expecting a smooth surface with a high gloss finish, move on, as this isn't what you are looking for... However, it is exactly what I was looking for... Very happy...Read More
This is not an heirloom piece-- it is a solidly built, sturdy and not unpleasing to the eye utilitarian computer desk. Assembly was straightforward and parts machined accurately. A helper is a good idea but not necessary if you're an experienced R-T-A (ready-to-assemble) buyer.Read More
I love the design of this desk and the ease of assembly, but the wood surfaces were marred by patterns of fairly deep gouges, two slashes and three dots, repeated seemingly at random. I contacted Overstock and, to their credit, they had a replacement top shipped quite quickly. (I did not want an entire new desk, and have to start the entire assembly process over.) Only problem? The replacement top had the same patterns of gouges as the original! And trust me, they are NOT "supposed" to be there. Either this company has NO quality control, or they purposely sell their "seconds" and "blemished" items through Overstock. My daughter tells me "most people" just accept poor quality these days. I guess, after going through the complaint / replacement process, I will accept it at this point. But I will NOT order from this company again. Be forewarned.Read More
EVERY wooden piece had deep puncture spots in it the 4 shelves had 3 places each. The top shelf had 6 spots that resembled being struck by a meat tenderizer hammer. I am so very displeased with this item. The box was in good condition, which tells me the items were packaged damaged. QC failed so so badly. I am so furious with this purchase having spent so much time to rearrange furniture to make room for this thing, and now I must waste time sending these unusable pieces back.. i wish i could attach pictures so people could see the " quality " of this item.Read More
I got exactly what i thought i was ordering online. The wood is quality and heavy. The colors are exact. It is distressed as mentioned, but not a lot to make it look weird. I love it!Read More
Easy to assemble...nice style... Great piece for those with eclectic taste. Open Airy stylish doesn't look cheap.Read More
