this hall tree is made well, but it looks heavier in the pic than it actually. It has not fallen over, which I thought would be a problem, so I am happy with it. Now if only I can get the rest of my family to put their jackets on it instead of the chair in my family room.

Perhaps I put a bit too much stock in all the recent, glowing reviews of this coat stand that I expected too much. I was prepared for the rotating top half--a big thank you to reviewers who included this info since the item description fails to mention it--but not for how shoddily constructed the entire piece turned out to be. Because the base dimension of this stand works well in the space I intended, compared to a few similar models sold on the site, I do not plan to return it. But ultimately I am disappointed in the finish (dull, chips easily with just a fingernail scratch, cheap-looking) the sturdiness (holds a few lightweight items well, but skip the family parkas or heavy purses) and the overall value. It's been recommend to spot weld and spray paint the stand to make it more suitable and if you're prepared to do this, order with confidence. If you want an item to be perfect straight out of the box, you may be slightly disappointed. I know this kinds of coat tree sells for quite a bit more at brick and mortar stores, but I am grateful the hubby is handy because this piece needs some work. If it looked beautiful I could handle some of the less than practical features, but it doesn't succeed at either level.

I read the reviews before I bought, and this tree is just as good as they say. We bought a house with an "open" design, so no hall closet, and our hats and coats ended up on chairs, on beds, etc. I needed something that wouldn't tip over when loaded with heavy coats, and this doesn't! There are basically just two parts to it, so easy to assemble, and it fits any decor. It's durable, attractive, and the top part rotates for easy access to anything hung on it. Buy it!

This is a great buy... a little dark but can change the color easily with spray paint. Looks great in entry way and not bulky. This piece is very sturdy and does not tip over easily. I recommend to all.

Just what I have been looking for! A bit heavy -- YEA! It won't tip over easily like my other one did. VERY easy to put together. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that it DOES rotate, and this was the deciding factor for me! Makes reaching things on the other side of the tree soooo much easier. Plus, it looks really nice and I believe will look nice with just about any decor! If I ever get tired of the black finish, I'm sure it will be very easy to spray paint any color or finish. Now the coats and purses, packs, etc are in easy reach and don't look like a mess on the couch!

Very attractive, sturdy and easy to assemble. Some of the previous reviews suggested spot welding the rotating top portion. I like the fact that it rotates. It makes accessing what you have on the coat tree all that much easier. Also, I didn't find that it wobbled at all. Use the site all the time , and this was one of my most satisfactory purchases..

One snowy day, I was tired of the pile of coats, hats & scarfs in the dining room. I looked up hall tree on Overstock & read all the reviews of each one. This model, is heavy, easy to put together (one screw, with tool inclosed), not top heavy, nice looking. All the things a hall tree should be. I give it an A+. The pile of coats are now hanging & the dining room looks much neater.

I needed something stylish and that could fit by the front door for kids jackets and backpacks etc. So far so good! This did the trick for us--and it is very attractive. The only concern I have is the finish rubbing off--I hope it doesn't--but my hands were a little dirty after putting it together. Wouldn't want it to come off on peoples coats. I would buy this again--I am pleased.

This is just what we were looking for -- I was worried it would be too ornate but when I put it together I was really pleased with the appearance. Fits well in our foyer - adding a decorative as well as functional element. Extremely easy to put together

The coat rack looks absolutely beautiful and was very easy to assemble. The only negative is that one of the legs needed to be about a half inch-inch longer so it wouldn't wobble. We needed to add something under one of them so it stood straight.

I NEEDED A PLACE IN MY FOYER TO HANG COATS AND PUT UMBRELLA'S. VERY STURDY AND STYLISH! SIMPLE TO ASSEMBLE.

Not as heavy as expected fbased on the original cost. I am not sure it will be able to hold coats and umbrellas without falling. There is only one screw holding the entire hall tree together, so it is very easy to assemble but it may be not enough to handle heavy items.

My husband and I have been looking for a coat rack for a couple of years. We didn't want wood and anything else is hard to find for under $100. I found this one and bought it based on the other reviews people left and I have not been disappointed.

I've been looking for an affordable hall tree forever. They are really hard to find! Either they are ugly, or flimsy, or just plain expensive. This one is beautiful, solid, and a good price. I actually get compliments on my hall tree! LOL! Love the umbrella holder too.

This is a great item that was easy to assemble and looks very nice in our home. The metal is substantial and holds even the heaviest jackets and coats up without tipping! We are enjoying this item and wil purchase them for our other homes.

We are very pleased with this coat tree as it perfectly matches our entry table and mirror. The wormanship and sturdiness of the piece are very good. We have looked for months for the piece that would fit perfectly and were not surprised to find it once again at Overstock.com. Service, tracking and delivery were all well executed, as usual.

I really enjoyed how quick it was to receive my coat rack from Overstock.com. I read all the reviews and was very pleased they were all right; it only took a couple of minutes to assemble. After assembley, there was a slight wobble in the shaft. If you can weld, this is quickly and easily corrected. I spot welded the back of the coat rack and it works fantastically.

i love the color and the look of it but my only complaint is that it comes in two pieces,the botom piece is screwed in but the top piece just slides ionto the pole and is not screwed in or sealed in any way its not tight either so it turns.it probably could toople with alot of coats on it
