Not sure I believe placement of this item is the key to the thermometer being accurate. I had another one in the same spot that read 10 degrees higher than actual temp, and this one reads at least that much. It is under a metal roof on my front porch and I think the heat of the day gets trapped under the roof and affects the temperature reading. I bought it for that spot in particular so I will deal with it. It does look very nice, especially for the money and is well constructed. It does not look or feel cheap and it keeps excellent time. I have read other reviews that say it reads the temperature accurately and I believe it but gave it 4 stars because it does not where I have it placed. It's probably my fault and It's staying where it is and I'll deal with it. It was accurate the other morning before the sun got up and it was 20 outside.

Great Design but Thermometer is Small This is a good idea and a great design. We put this on our enclosed porch. I thought you would be able to see the temperature from inside the house. You can see the time easily - - but the thermometer is very hard to read unless you are on top ot it. We kept it because it looks good on the wall of the porch but you have to be outside to read the temp!
