Dealing with a dust mite allergy, so thought these pillows would preclude the critters hiding/thriving there. I'm alone, so would only need one unless they were thin. Hard to tell from pic whether thin or whether they collapse much, so I bought two at once. Well, a single pillow is about 2/3 the thickness of a typical pillow and it does give some when you put your head down. But two of these pillows are about 1/3 higher than a standard pillow. Betwixt and between! One was too low for me; two were too high for my pattern of sleeping on my side. For your guidance, they are about 4" thick in the center. And they givea bit to somewhat forn to your head. But if they're stacked, only the top one will give any. So, make your best judgment. (BTW, when they say "form to your head's shape" that's only in a nebulous way. It makes it sound like your head will feel like a jigsaw puzzle piece dropping into place. It's not like that and you wouldn't want it that form-fitting anyhow. In that area it's comfortable; I just couldn't get things to the right height.)
This pillow is, as others have said, very hard and flat. Since my hubby likes a hard pillow he is okay with it but asked me to buy one that is not so hard. I don't mean firm I mean 'hard'. The value is okay for someone who wants a hard pillow.
I have had the pillows over 3 weeks and haven't been able to use them. They smell like mildew and I've washed the covers and sprayed the pillow itself with Febreze and it still smells. Couldn't return them because I thought I could get rid of the smell.
This pillow offers the support I was looking for. The only thing I didn't like is that it is quite flat. It sits about 50% lower than the normal pillows on my bed. Still, not bad at all for the price.
