'Mem-Cool' 2-inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper

We just purchased a Sealy Pur-Embrace Latex mattress on closeout with a no return policy. We discovered it was way too firm for us (when they say smaller people may have joint pain from a too firm mattress - they are correct. We purchased this mattress topper and when it came we just unwrapped it a little bit and let time do the rest so we wouldn't damage it. It didn't take long to expand to full size. Maybe 3 - 4 hours. However, I would recommend letting it sit so the smell can get out of it. That can take a long time - maybe a few days. We didn't wait that long. Instead we took our electric knife and cut off the extra (we ordered a California King so it would fit our queen well). We put it up against a straight wall so we would be able to have it very straight and then we cut off 10" along the opposite side. We now have it on our bed and it has solved our problem. Cushy on top with firmness underneath - great support., The extra 10" I may use to make some pillows out of. And, by the way, those extra pieces which have been sitting out for a couple weeks hardly smell at all now. I'm not sure what to say about it being cooler. It's the dead of winter right now and I can say it is not overly hot. Just comfortable. Great purchase!

This Mem-Cool 2 inch mattress topper is one of the best investments I have ever made. I was hesitant to spend much money on it because I had never slept on a memory foam topper before. I thought the price was too low for it to be much of a benefit to my aching back. Boy was I surpised! Prior to purchasing this topper I was using a very expensive king size feather bed. After a few years the feather bed had huge "dents" in it where my husband and I slept during the night (and no we aren't overweight), and any support it once had was long gone. I woke up regularly with an aching back. So I decided to try a memory foam topper. The price here at Overstock was so reasonable for this 2" memory foam topper and it arrived within just a few days. I figured for a little over $100 it would last me until I did a bit of research on what was the best and most durable mattress topper. That was close to 18 months ago, and I still have it and still love it. I am considering upgrading to a 3" or 4" version, but honestly I can't imagine that either will be significantly better than this 2 inch one. There are absolutely no "dents" in it -- even after 18 months of use, and it really cushions so nicely, not overly soft or gushy. It just supports me without putting my back/neck in an odd position. I just love it and I finally wake up without an aching back! My previous $600 feather bed couldn't do that (the comfort from the feather bed lasted well under a year). I really love how this memory foam topper fits under a deep pocket bottom sheet. I have no problem getting my sheets on the bed. Plus... it actually covers the entire bed. There are no little gaps on the sides or on the bottom. It covers my king size mattress completely. Two thumbs up from me! I would highly recommend this to anyone.

This topper is comfortable and stays cool when you sleep. Fits perfect on dorm room beds.

This item fails in all regards. It's extremely hot - not cool at all. I normally sleep on a Tempur-Pedic mattress and this thing is 20 times hotter than that. I was trying to use this on a regular twin mattress and simply couldn't stand the heat (trapped body heat). In addition, the padding itself is way less than adequate. I'm tall and don't have much in the way of natural padding and even using this pad my hip bone felt like it had no padding at all. I'd recommend trying something else - but not this one unless you're very cold!
