      To start with, these were listed as needing to be hard wired, but they DO come with a cord already wired, so don't let that dissuade you.We purchased three (a red, blue and multicolored) and used 25 watt bulbs in each one and put them in the media room for ambient lighting(set so that they point up at ceiling).They are perfect for us and the multicolored light matches some artwork we have there(coincidental,but a bonus for us).They have a on/off switch on the cord and are a very good value as far as we are concerned. I would recommend them highly if you are considering their purchase.

    • lovely light

      The light is larger than I thought but that is not a bad thing at all. It doesn't look bulky. The color is as shown, which is nice. Once lights up, it is an even better blue glow, with some shades. Put in a 40W bulb and set at a corner of living room which was sort of dark. It shifted the balance of the room without too much focusing on itself. I love it.

    • nice accent light

      This spotlight looks much better turnrd on. The picture doesn't show the really nice marble like finish when the light is on, however when off it looks like a solid blue ball.

    • A nice lamp, needs more colors

      It was a little bit smaller than I expected (only slightly), but it does make a lovely accent piece. A great lamp to have on your nightstand. It gets warm after awhile so if you're going to keep it on for a prolonged period, don't keep anything clustered around it. The cord is about 5-6 feet, with the switch being 3 feet away from the base of the lamp, so it does give you some flexibility in where you can place it.
