I'm very happy with this purchase. The assembly was not difficult, but took about 30 minutes and needed to follow steps provided. The only thing lacking was black plugs to cover the holes where the screws are located. I'll go to a local hardware store to pick some up. Once assembled it was sturdy and solid to hold my printer and books.

I had purchased the shelf because it was really similar to one I purchase some years ago. The instructions said you need at least 2 persons to assemble. Well, I did manage to do it by myself. I just had to think of ways to sit it to reach screw areas or to place a piece. The instructions do not give single steps, so at one point I had put the ends on the middle shelf, when you have to put all the parts to one end first, standing it on its side, because you cannot squeeze the other parts between the ends once the middle shelf is attached. I just took it apart and thought it thru better. The one really faulty piece is the middle shelf. It is held together with dowels and wood screws. The wood screws are too short to get into the other piece well enough and does not hold. I hunted down some meatier and longer wood screws and replaced the holes with them and it all is much better.
