Media/Bookshelves

Of all the furniture in your home, bookshelves are perhaps the most versatile. Serving both form and function, the right bookshelf in your home can give you the storage space you need, but it can also reflect your style tastes. From modern to classic, simple to ornate, there are plenty of designs to choose from. Choose one that coordinates with the rest of your living room furniture, a small, compact one for your bedroom, or a unique ladder-style shelf to place in another prominent spot in your home.
Bookshelves are designed to save space and de-clutter a room, all while providing you a spot to store your books. But did you know that you can put so much more on them than just books? Use your shelf as a media case to store everything from your favorite novel to your music and DVD collections. That way, you can stay organized while you display your items. You can even use your bookshelf to display some of your decorative items, like vases and picture frames.
Although there are some standard sizes for basic bookshelves (from 32x31 inches for a 2-shelf case to 72x31 inches for a 5-shelf design), they also come in just about every size possible. In fact, bookshelves may be the one piece of furniture available in the largest variety of sizes and styles.
Since not everyone's home is designed the same, not everyone's bookshelf will be the same. Whether you need just a couple shelves to store a few books or a floor-to-ceiling media cabinet for all your Blu-ray movies, there is a bookshelf to fit your needs. You can even find corner shelves for those rooms without much floor or wall space. Just make sure you measure the space where you're planning on putting the shelf; then pay attention to the dimensions before you buy. This will save you the headache of trying to make an awkwardly sized shelf fit into your room.

this stuff is cheaply made, the "laminate" on the outside is thin and more like a sticker than a laminate. We ordered 2 and kept the one we put together in an out of the way space in our hallway upstairs. The other was to go in our dinning room. No way, just to cheap. This may be appropriate for a college dorm or for someone in their first apartment.

I purchased two of these shelves. I had a few problems putting the first one together because I did not follow the instructions correctly. But the second one went together very easily. The are quite impressive I used them on each side of a large TV and stand. They are very well built and the shelves are sturdy. I found other companies were charging quite a bit more for the same unit so Thanks to Overstock for the great pricing.

Still not put together yet. Started, but I got bogged down with the way it is going together. I've put together a lot of furniture, but this one is just a little strange to put together. The sides do not meet in the corner as the picture depicts. I will finish and make it work.

I never thought I'd start a review like his but the packaging on this piece was really impressive. The box is large and heavy and was pretty beat up. I removed it and there was a second box inside the was in perfect shape. Inside that were the wooden pieces surrounded by styrofoam pieces Needless to say it was in excellent shape. It was very easy to out together IF you have a very short handled screw driver. There are only 3 or 4 pieces of hardware but lots of each - I think 60-80. The instructions were clear and it was impossible to get confused. It took less than an hour to out together and it looks so nice. I'm using it as a room divider as well as a bookshelf. The shelves are deep enough to put books on each side and I've got some knock knacks in the cubbies.
