I just received these bowls the other day and they are beautiful. They are ceramic, which we all know can chip, but the quality is wonderful. Matte finish (semi gloss), smooth edges, nice contouring. They nest nicely inside each other, either right side up or upside down. Great classic "all around" appeal. Would make a nice gift for someone too! I gave it 5 stars on all but the value because everything is going up in price and $30+ is not what I would normally spend on mixing bowls - however, I doubt you would be disappointed! C. Genova

Just an FYI for those who might care about the appearance of the bowls more than the function...I just love these bowls, purchased elsewhere unfortunately! BUT...over time, expect a lot of gray, blackish scrapes on the insides of the bowl if you use them for stirring, whisking, etc...they do not affect the functionality at all, and because I live in a vintage home and love all things vintage...I kind of like them like that strangely, but for those who want them to remain pure white, I'd look for something different...

this is why I always go to overstock first.: I received my set of white bowls, and there was a crack in the large bowl. I sent ONE email and had my replacement in 2 days.Oh, and by the way - they are beautiful. thank you!
