Not really as expected It was smaller than I thought but it will do the job. The thing that irritates me about it is, the basket does not sit right when you drop it into oil. It eithers tilts too forward or too backward, which makes the food cook unevenly. I even balanced the amount of food in it and it didn't make a difference. So I have use a fork to shift the food while cooking. Its a pain.
