I was nervous about the color, but it is a beautiful pale gold which is exactly what I was hoping for. The pattern is more obvious on the website picture. it is actually more subtle- it is really just a pattern cut into the pile so it is the same color as the rest of the rug. The weight of the rug is perfect. It is a little delicate as far as the pile. It is easily pulled if caught by something. So I would not recommend this if you have children who will be playing on it. I also have a dog who likes to scratch occasionally (which doesn't harm my thick pile rugs at all) so I have to watch to make sure he doesn't do that on this rug. Glad I bought it.
I liked everything about this rug for my transitional decor, the color, a light champagne is not too overpowering, the design brings a slightly contemporary feel to my room that I thought was quite pleasing, my sole complaint is the quality, It has a rather deep pile, and quite a heavy rug, that continually sheds and snags. I have no children, no pets and very little traffic in the room where this rug is located, yet every day for over four months I find new loose yarns and snags. In addition, everyday I vacuum my canister is completely full of rug fiber that covers the wood floors throughout my house as well as any flat surfaces such as my tables and tv console. I consider myself a rug-a-holic and admit I have a little trouble resisting a good buy. This rug however was NOT. It now is in storage in my "rug room" until I can figure out what to do with it. It drives home the saying "looks aren't everything", and I'm just glad I had a backup. My advice, save your money and resist the urge on this rug.
