Martha Stewart Bloomery Linden Cotton Rug (7'9 x 9'9)

It was a risk ordering this rug online never having seen it in person, but I could not be more pleased. I was searching for a 100% cotton rug as I can't tolerate the 'off-gassing' smell of wool or synthetic rugs. Not only does this rug have absolutely no odor or fumes, but its soft and cushiony under your feet. The backing and binding is also 100% cotton and looks very well made (I would not expect less if it has Martha's name on it). The colors are near identical to the photo--a light celery/sage green and soft ivory. The rug pattern is slightly two dimensional: the green area is short, dense loops while the ivory design is raised cut pile which gives it some visual interest. I am using this rug in the living room and was worried the overall pattern might be too visually bold but its very soft and doesn't dominate the room as I feared. Be aware however you cannot clean this rug with a standard upright vacuum because the rotating beater-bar takes up a LOT of fiber and over time will render your rug thread-bare....either vacuum gently with a non-rotating attachment or hang it over a clothesline and beat it the old fashioned way. Overstock's price is awesome--I saw this rug in a store as well as on other websites for more than double the price!
