When this rug gets wet, yellow discoloration appears. I think it must have to do with the backing. There was some water spilled and I cannot remove the discoloration. Also, I tried cleaning some dirt that was tracked in off of it and the moisture from the cleaner left a yellow mark. But it's not the cleaner....water alone will do it. In addition, I will not buy a cotton rug again. It gets dirty very easily. While the design is nice, this rug will not look good for long. I've had mine for 2 months (tops) and I'm already looking to replace it.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The color was not as muted...was more of a bright icecream color.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. It looks nice....the execution seemed okay at first, but...
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Okay.
i bought this for our living room, and i'm happy with it. the color is much subtler than it looks on the screen--at least on my screen. whereas the image makes it look like a darkish blue pattern on an aqua background, under my lights it is more like aqua on aqua--just a shade or two of difference between them. the background is light enough to be called pastel; the stars are a little too dark for that, but not by much. the pattern is made more prominent by the difference in pile--the background is flatter and a different, more loopy kind of weave, and the stars are raised and more plush. i like it a lot so far. it is very soft and pretty. looks great on our wood floors. i gave 4 stars instead of 5 because 1) it's cotton, and i feel like martha was a little nuts when she set the retail price of her rug collection, and 2) i'm a little worried about the wear. like it seems completely fine, but the rug is so soft that i wonder if it will hold up, and when i walk on it in heels, it leaves an indentation that i have to rub out. it rubs out okay, but still. but it's great looking, and i would buy it again. and actually its being cotton is a plus as i think/hope that means it's not going to shed. yay for martha.
