Russian-born American painter Mark Rothko is best known for his abstract paintings depicting soft-edged rectangles of color floating weightlessly against undefined backgrounds. Great colors
The colors are somewhat darker than online but still vivid and beautiful. The finish is a high gloss. My only complaint is that hanger was the saw/tooth type attached to very top of canvas subframe. This makes hanging more difficult for me personally. I would prefer wire and hook hardware. All in all a good purchase at a reasonable price.

colors are wrong
The quality of the painting is fine, but the colors are completely off. This paintin gis not red and white. It's more in the color family of burgundy, mauve, and pink. DO NOT BUY if you're looking for bright crimson and white. I will be returning.

Mark Rothko, 'White over Red' Unframed Stretched-c
I purchased this product for a hallway landing wall, along with another complementary Rothko painting. The sides of the unframed stretched canvas reproduction were not painted and are white. Typically the sides of unstretched paintings are painted the base color of the picture to blend. It is unsightly to see "white unpainted" canvas showing on the sides of the picture. If you are picky, don't purchase b.c. if you don't like you will have to pay to ship back and restocking fees. I will say though that Overstock customer service is outstanding and worked with me to address my concerns and make it easy to return the picture.

Good buy
I have loved the Rothko paintings since seeing some huge originals at the Tate Modern. I couldn't hope for a nicer replica for my home for that price. Good texture, good size. Very clean looking. Also have the orange one and they add nice color to my room.
