This was my first purchase from Overstock. This board is extremely heavy. Very well made and well finished. Top row of wood pieces is a fraction shorter, front to back, than the rest, which may account for the lower price. The cutting surface is not affected in any way, nor is the quality. The surface is completely level on both cutting surfaces, board is totally square at the corners. All I could add to this item would be finger slots at the sides, something I'll be adding with my friend's router! You will have to oil it with food-grade mineral oil. This is available in the laxative section of any pharmacy, oddly enough. No, the oil WILL NOT transfer to your food... I feel I got a tremendous bargain on this item, as I have researched comparable items and found the prices to be at least $$-$$ bucks higher. I am especially happy to see it was made in America, about 500 miles away from me! BUY THIS!

I was a little worried that the board would be too big once i got it. I actually thought my husband would make fun of it. I could hardly lift it in the box it came in! But once i put it on the counter and started using it i loved it! It's great that it makes my work space 3 inches higher which, not that i am tall (5'5), it is just a more comfortable way to work. I have not really cut directly on it since i am not sure how easy it's going to be to clean. like i said, it's super heavy and it is quite big. I've gotten used to the size now and my husband did not make fun of it at all. his first words were "now that's a cutting board!" oh, and it looks way more expensive than it was. i would recommend this for sure.

This very thick and heavy butcher block looks great and sturdy; however, within three months of use there is a major crack. The glued pieces of wood have separated: now there is a one inch long by a quarter inch opening. The block is also slightly warped. Board was exposed to some water, but not a lot and it was regularly oiled. What a disappointment. The design would be better if there were some little "legs" on the block to raise it a bit from the counter.

I keep this out on my counter all the time so I wish it was a little more attractive in color. But it's durable and useful so I would recommend it. To be expected, it's very heavy.

I just received this board. It's excellent quality but heavy. The board is 3" inches tick (most other brands have 2" thick). It's a chopping block and i have it out all the time. this is perfect if you have expensive knives since it won't dull the knives

Overstock is a great company with incredible deals on most items. The price is great for this particular chopping block and the description was very accurate in the listing. It is a heavy item and that is what I wanted. The craftsmanship is great and I look forward to using this chopping block often.

Excellent quality cutting board for an excellent price. As other reviews have mentioned, the weight of it doesn't lend itself to moving back and forth. Pick a spot and leave it--its a beautiful piece of wood. We bought this to replace another cutting board we purchased from Overstock. That one was about an inch thinner and after a couple years, it split from moisture (it is placed next to the sink). We plan to do a better job of oiling this one. The added thickness gives it a height on the counter that is much more comfortable for chopping.

I have always wanted a really good chopping block. I found it in this one. It is very nice. Its heavy so be warned. The quality is excellent, the color on screen is a bit darker than in mine, but they may vary . The other thing is I didnt realize how high 31/2 inches is so its quite thick and a little too high on my island so have to use it on counter which is a bit lower. It is fantastic and worth every penny and more, I have seen this size and quality for over ***. Im very happy with this block.

It was easy to tell this was a factory second. The packing was inferior as well. The product that was meant to condition the chopping block was not included although a note said the conditioning product was included. I am not sure if I would purchase this product again. I am using it daily and like the functionality. I wish it were a bit more attractive. I would recommend this with an explanation of how the product I received was not as marketed.

I spent a lot of time looking for a really nice, heavy duty chopping block and this is the one I decided on. It is perfect, it raises the height of my counter up enough so I don't hurt my back when I'm cooking and it is wide enough that I can have multiple items on the block without cross contaminating. It is very heavy which I like, definitely won't warp or crack like other boards I've had. Plus the company even sent me a free bottle of oil with my order to oil the block with!

What an amazing piece of wood. I received the chopping block yesterday and it is indeed a very impressive item. Its thickness and weight will be the stable platform for all my cutting and the end grain will be the perfect complement to my set of chefs knives. I especially love the color variation which this block has…not only is it a great cutting surface it will now sit out on the countertop and be part of the kitchen décor. The item arrived super fast and was packaged to survive the trip. Thanks!

Very nice Maple End grain chopping/cutting board. I only wish I would have ordered a larger board. Heavy, strong, self repairing. Does require regular mineral oil treatment.

Although some reviews noted flaws with boards by this manufacturer I already had an 18x18x3 1/2 cutting board ordered through Overstocked.com which appeared to be fine. Therefore I felt comfortable ordering this 20 x 15 x 3 1/2 board from the same manufacturer. I was sent a chopping board that has glue filler showing in one spot. It may be small but glue it is. Two corners are not beveled smoothly. This is not a cheap item and customers should not be the ones providing quality control.

Very solid, very functional, and very attractive. Highly Recommended !

This wood block is elegant and useful. It looks so good in the kitchen. I normally use another cutting board on top of it for easier cleaning, but it provides such a nice base for chopping and everything else in the kitchen. I love it.

this was a very expensive purchase with very poor quality. the wood was not of high grade, nor was it made in equal size pieces. there were inserts in the wood where mistakes or holes were apparently made. the color was made of cheap quality wood as attested by the poor grain, and if it did not cost so much to send it back to you, i would. i must say that this is the first purchase of many from overstock, that was of great disappointment. i have enjoyed all of my other purchases. i really think you should send me a new chopping block to make up for this lousy one.

I recently received this block from Overstock and unfortunately, I found a crack that had been filled in with hot glue. Thankfully, Overstock is shipping me a new one right away so overall, I'm not too disappointed with the outcome. i just hope the second block is pristine. Cheers.
