This desk is substantial. It's much bigger in person than I anticipated! It's a great looking desk, contemporary, but not too much so. The two things that I didn't expect were: 1) the color is much more purple/red than I anticipated. I thought "espresso" meant a dark dark brown/black. 2) the drawers are not stained on the inside as they appear in the photo. They are the natural color wood (a very light pine color). Overall, it's a good desk and O.com had it at a good price. If I didn't have those 'surprises' I would give it 5 stars.

I love this desk! It's solidly built and beautiful. The delivery guys put it together for me, which was a relief because it's heavy. My only complaint is that the finish has some imperfections. There are places where it looks like the packing materials may have gotten wet and now show up as slightly lighter rectangles and streaks. Given the price, that is disappointing.

The desk is very elegant, the color is much lighter than the picture however, it is a deep brown, not black, so keep this in mind if you've got your heart set on a black-hued desk. Mine arrived with some damage on two drawers, but it took Overstock and their shipping company so long to get it to me (2 months) that I did not want to send it back, so I had the repairs done myself. Remember also that you need to place it somewhere where the back of the desk is not on view -- the back has a hole in it with cords running through it to accomodate the outlets and ports built into the desk. It is made to be seen head-on. It really is a lovely piece of furniture. Not a day goes by that I don't get at least one compliment on this desk. Just prepare yourself to possibly wait awhile to get it.

This desk is look even better in person. The finish is very beautiful. It is well worth the price and so easy to assemble. LOVE it!

Classy desk, sleek lines with lots of work space and ample storage. Goes in any decor. White glove delivery was really great and will spoil me to the regular kind when it comes in a box and I have to put it together myself. Over Stock put it on sale before mine was delivered and when I called they gave the difference between the sales price and what I had paid. How's that for customer service? Great company, great products!

The manhattan desk is a beautiful piece of furniture and a wonderful addition to our apartment. It has modern clean lines and provides lots of needed storage space while not appearing too massive. The only problem I had was getting the drawers to slide all the way out so that I could install the legs. There is a trick to unlocking the mechanism that is not mentioned on the instruction sheet. There are little black plastic tabs at the back end of the metal drawer slide. I tried pressing them in, then lifting them up and then pushing them down. The trick is to pull one up while pushing the other one down and then they slid out easily. Once that was accomplished the installation was a piece of cake. I know we are going to enjoy this desk for many years to come.

This desk has been a wonderful addition to my home office. It is of solid good construction and good quality materials and is much deeper than I expected which was a great surprise. The raised shelf at the back allows my monitor to sit up and allows me to use the entire desk surface as a workspace. The additional outlets on the front are also useful but I have not yet figured out how to utilize the USB and other ports provided. Though the drawers provided are not huge, they provide ample space to store all of my day to day items such as envelopes, legal pads, post-it notes, etc and there are 4 drawers which has turned out to be plenty of space. The white glove service was free so it was a nice bonus but I would not pay extra for it as the assembly of the desk is simple and brief. Completely happy with the beautiful new piece!

The photo doesn't communicate how large this desk actually is. I wanted something a bit "different" than the typical desk, and this fit the bill. It’s very stylish looking and a high quality piece of furniture. It’s not the most practical purchase, especially if you are looking for storage. You almost have to buy the matching file cabinet to gain some office storage. One word of caution: While the desk is extremely simple to assemble, the "white glove" delivery company did not put mine together properly. There are four legs which can only go together when the drawers are removed first. All well and good, but there are also 8 dowel rods that most go in first to line up the legs and add extra support. The delivery men didn't put the dowels in. When I asked them, what are these for, they replied, Oh those are just in case you have the desk on a hard floor (huh!?) I re-read the instructions and realized they forgot to put the dowels in. It took about 10 minutes to disassemble it and put the legs on properly. I recommend that you either put the desk together yourself or make certain they do it properly. The combo of the desk and file cabinet are expensive, but this is really high quality furniture -- not low end stuff. There is a third piece to this collection which is a small bookshelf, but unfortunately the company has discontinued it. The only downside of the design is that the desk can’t “float” in the room; it must be against a wall.

the legs of this Desk were a little bit damage due to the Delivery but my husband called Overstock and they sent a new pair of them. It very Easy to assemble It just take 2 man to carry it since it is heavy. Its a huge Desk so nice and I have my doubts but thanks to my husband's insistence we now own this beatiful Desk.. Worth every Penny!

Beautiful Desk, great dark color and solid structure. Me and my wife really like this Desk. The only thing that we did not like as much was the power unit. Like the Whole table which looks and feels sturdy and solid, the power unit is detachable from the desk and therefore if you put a pawer cable and you try to move it from the Unit the unit comes out sometimes. Therefore you have to hold the unit and then pull the cord so that it stays in place. That fine for us. Apart from that we dont have any issues with it. Oh Yea the White Glove service was great. This is a Heavy desk.

This is a lovely piece of furniture. I bought the Manhattan dresser to match and have them in my office. Very elegant. Love it!!!!

I was a little nervous about getting this desk at first, the price seemed a little high for the style of desk. It was well worth it! We love it and we have gotten a ton of compliments on it. This is quality construction. Assembly was quick and easy.

Just unpacked and assembled it. Definitely worth the money. Looks beautiful and expensive. Excellent quality of workmanship. Glad I purchased this desk:))))

The desk looks wonderful, and I've gotten many compliments. The finish is very nice, the drawers open and close smoothly and are solid wood inside. Also, it's nice to have the feature that allows the electric and computer cables to be plugged in inside the desk. Works best if you're going to have the desk against the wall, so the cables are hidden between the desk and the wall. In my case, I have the desk free-standing, so we had to drill holes to hide the cables from view. I paid for white-glove delivery and assembly, but it appears the assembly is so easy, that it isn't really worth the extra $150 or so. Nice piece of furniture and excellent price.

I wanted a nice contemporary desk that was functional and not "clunky". The price was great and the desk is gorgeous. A very defined expresso finish, perfect height and looks great. The workspace is great, plenty of desk surface to work on; corners are cut so you don't catch them and with the clean line on the legs, it fills a small space without making it look cluttered. I would change one thing - the keyboard drawer is too small for the bigger curved keyboards, but works fine as paper and ruler drawer. Very satisfied with the product. It was easy to put together and two people who have stopped by both commented positively on the desk!!!

This piece is beautiful. It's dark expresso - although looks black in photo. It did have a few minor dings here and there but since I didn't put it together until 3 weeks after it arrived, I didn't contact overstock. I'll take care of the most significant one with a furniture marker. The others you don't notice unless you're the one who put it together. Very heavy and solid. I'm a 55 yr. old, pretty strong, female and managed to put it together by myself - wouldn't recommend it though. It was simple to put together, just very heavy. So, I had to figure out a way to have leverage and not damage the piece. It took me 2 hours to put it together. But, I'm sure if I had had help, it would have taken no more than 25-30 mins. It's a bit pricey for Overstock. But, it's worth every dime for this classy comtemporary computer (writing) desk.
