Good, but...
The shipment arrived when it was supposed to. The packaging was damaged but the contents were fine. Assembly was fairly cumbersome because some parts needed to be glued together that didn't originally need to be assembled. The bench is together and looks like the picture and we are happy with it but it did take more work to assemble than necessary.

Great outdoor bench
This is the second year for this bench; it looks the same as when i got it. I followed the recommendations for treating the wood for longer age. It has no cracks or fading and it is very comfortable. It is sturdy and classy looking; I am very pleased with my purchase.

Malacca Bench
Overall I would rate this bench as Fair. Am using it outside. The sides were not totally drilled for the screws to go in. There was a minor crack that we sealed up to prevent further damage from use/weather. Other than these 2 points- it seems sturdy, is a good size, and is attractive.

Looks and works great on my front porch. It's VERY comfortable. I use it everyday.

Comfortable
This bench was easy to assemble and very comfortable compared to other benches, though some might want to add a cushion. It would have gotten 5 stars from me if the finish had been smoother. It felt in places that it needed a good sanding as it was rather rough. In general, though, I am very pleased with the bench and recommend it. It's on Amazon as well for more money but get it here instead and pay less for the bench and shipping.

Solid garden bench
This bench is very nice, high backed and comfortable. Some damage to the outside of the box upon arrival, but the bench itself was unscathed. Only negative was two areas where there was stain dripped on the seat, but this ended up to be the bottom of the seat, so its not noticeable when assembled. Assembly took me less than 15 minutes by myself.

High Back Bench
WE LOVE THIS BENCH! I love the high back! It is really beautiful. We have had it for two years. My husband treated it so it could stay outdoors, but he needs to do it again. My fault for leaving it out over the winter. Next year I'll put it in the garage. Over all... delighted and would highly recommend it!

lovely chair
The bench needs assembling, and if not for the inconsistency of the parts and holes being drilled in the wrong places, and the slats falling out as a result of it, it would get 5 stars, because, after all, it is a lovely piece of outdoor furniture. Overstock was fantastic in the response to this problem and promptly resend. But, in the end, we had to hire a handy man, since I was not one, to help drill the hole to keep the new bench intact, it was not worth calling again since it seems that the inconsistency was obviously in their lot and I liked the Bench too much to return and try again. As I said, its a nice looking piece, but it feels a bit thin on the seat, only time will tell how long it will last. What you pay is what you get. I am fully aware of it and still love the way this looks on my front porch.

perfect!
I purchased this bench for our school's auction and it was better than i had hoped it would be! it was expedited very quickly too which was imperative considering my deadline was a week after my purchase! Everyone at the auction was very impressed, I wish we would have been able to keep it at our house! It will sit outside of our children's school for years to come with a commerative plaque on it so we will still be able to enjoy it!

Lovely
I received the product in a timely manner but because it was for our 2nd home, had to wait until we got there to open the box for assembly. The box had ping-pong ball size hole in it so we were concerned about what we might find. When we opened the box, the wood side piece on the back panel was split about 6 inches and this made all the back slat pieces fall out. I called Overstock when I got home again and they ordered a new piece. Wasn't sure if we'd get just a replacement for the broken piece or a whole new item. The new back panel piece arrived within a week and was just fine. Upon assembly of the new piece we did have to use some wood glue to ensure it would stay together. But the overall bench is really nice, very comfortable and fits perfectly in our pool room as planned. I'm now having a friend make a cushion for it to make it even more comfortable for our guests. Overstock came through and we're very pleased--especially for the price!
