Looks more like painted cheap wood BUT drawers and hinges are all in good working order. Does not feel as cheap as it looks. Would have been better off paying more for the ones that have a nicer appearance, after all that is the reason for the purchase in the first place - to turn a mess into something attractive.

The color and look is real nice. The item is too delicate for the intended use.
