No, can't recommend unless you are buying the design for the first time and you like tubular steel made to look like wrought iron to those who don't know what real wrought iron looks like. And not at the price offered. We were disappointed in the quality of the product and the finish. The picture on Overstock.com makes the chair look like its a wrought iron gray with some highlights and a light sheen. Thirteen years ago, we purchased a set of bar stools of the same design from the same manufacturer from a local retailer. We love the bar stools. They are solid iron, powder coated and the seats are covered in a durable faux suede. Exceptional. The dining chairs we ordered from Overstock.com come from the same manufacturer as our bar chairs. We assumed they would be the same quality. We were ecstatic to find they were still made. The photos on Overstock.com give the appearance of a gun metal gray chair with a slight sheen and a faux suede cushion. We had just acquired a dining table with a wrought iron base and wanted dining chairs to match the bar stools and compliment the table. Based on the original products we bought from the same manufacturer 13years ago, a photo and description that sounded similar to our originals (including a comment from an Overstock.com CS rep that that color was towards a pewter color) we made an order. A couple of days later, we got an email that the chairs would be delivered the next morning. They arrived via FedEx and like kids opening Christmas presents we tore open the boxes to get to our new chairs. What a difference 13 years makes! The chairs look NOTHING like the photo in terms of finish and color. They are cheap Chinese knock offs of the original American made wrought iron design. The American version from many years ago is solid wrought iron and finished in an elegant copper bronze finish that has no cheap sheen to it. The chairs we received are tubular steel that are about ½ the weight or less. The finish is a dark brown with a splatter orange finish with a cheap looking varnish or lacquer coating. Compared to the product they produced 13 years ago, these are pure Chinese junk. How disappointed we were! We plan to steel wool the finish to remove the cheap sheen, take off the seat and then spray the chairs with an automotive flat black spray paint very lightly to cover the cheap looking rust splatter. We will then re-laquer the chairs in a satin flat finish to approximate our bar stools. But the weight gives them away as not being wrought iron. Nope. Sorry. Bottom line: Very nice chair if you have never seen the originals. But the photo on the site does not does not resemble what you will receive. It is quite brown with orange flecks and a shiny finish. Forget the Overstock.com CS rep comment. It is in no way a pewter or dark pewter finish. We wish is was. Pepper
