great item!
I bought this product for my 6 yr old as a study /homework desk. It's a very beautiful table with storage area and great bench/chair. The assembly directions could have been better layed out, however my husband is handy and he finished it in no time. It's a sturdy and pretty piece of furniture I'm sure we'll have for years to come. The size is perfect, not too big or too small. i would definitely recommend this item. Also my daughters room is mainly brown furniture, which perfectly matches the top half of the bench of this table. fast shipment! Very satisfied customer! thanks overstock!

unexpected
promptly received the desk set after placing the order. it arrived with instructions that were obviously written in Malaysa....where this was packaged.... not that easy to understand.....many more screws were included than were used by me.....the various holes were not aligned correctly, which caused a severe problem in putting pieces together, as far as sturdiness goes....both the desk and the bench are really not that sturdy.....the top of the desk just lays on top of the desk, but it's very heavy.....was very disappointed with this purchase, because other purchases through Overstock have not been disappointing....bottom line is - it's all put together after much effort, and sweat, but my grandaugher, whose name is Madison, really likes the desk and the bench....guess that makes it worthwhile, but really not worth what the set cost in dollars....she's only almost eight (in January), and doesn't weigh that much.....that's a good thing.......................................Karen in New Jersey..............

Nice desk for a younger student
Everything about this desk/chair combo is as advertised. I must say that i was impressed with the general quality of the pieces. Assembly is straight forward, but as others have commented, inserting the 'panel' (which will become the bottom of the inside of the desk storage area) is the most difficult part. For the price, i think this desk set simply cannot be beat.

Sturdy but...
Not exactly white. This is really a cream desk. The instructions for the stool were missing, but it was easily assembled. I would recommend that you have a drill / electic screw driver to assemble the top to the frame. Hand screwing it in would be a problem.

Daughters gift was just right.

Beautiful addition to any space!
I bought this desk for my 9 yr. old it has a hook on the side for her bookbag and it's very sturdy. It's just the right size for a smaller space.

Good value
The only problem we had was the assembly as the screws that hold the top on were not quite long enough and hard to install as you need a very long screwdriver to do the work. We made it work and are very pleased....and so was our granddaughter. This was her first big girl desk.

Nice desk, but...
The desk itself was great, but beware - I received with no instructions and one piece split near the seam. Fortunately, I'm a little handy and have experience putting things together - so I took the challenge to put it together on my own, using the photo as a guide. It worked - and I was lucky that the split piece of wood was facing inside the desk so it's not seen from the outside. I'm just hoping it doesn't cause a structural issue in the future. Overall, it's the perfect desk for my 6 year old daughter's room. Just wish it would have been a better buying experience.

This desk is a great value and relatively easy to assemble. It fits in a tight space, so works well in my daughter's room without taking up a large amount of space. She loves it, which means the most and supports the rating.
