  • Awesome Cutting Board

    This cutting board is robust and beautiful. It is holding up well with daily use and periodic oiling to refresh the wood. I love the wood and it is a great addition to my kitchen. The large size allows me to chop and cut to my heart's content--no more cutting up one tomato on a small cutting board and running out of space.

    Beautiful Cutting Board - Too bad 2 of the laminated seams are separating and now this board is trash. no way to fix it and the splits will now harbor bacteria - just what I want to do is give my family and friends food poisoning.

    This cutting board matches the Overstock description. The one down side was that one of the sides had two deep cuts in it, which made me wonder whether this board had been used before and then returned. Aside from that, I'm happy with this purchase. Be sure you want something this orange -- the color is strong, and, to my mind, quite pretty.

  • Good looks and good value

    Not sure why I chose this over maple--I think it was price. Now that it's in my kitchen, I'm delighted with the color, the size, and the serviceability of this cutting board. The color is rosy rather than brown, which I really like, and there's a lot of grain in this wood. I follow the old advice about seasoning wood for kitchen use: oil once a day for a week, once a week for a month, and once a month for a year. (Sounds like a pain, but it really isn't.) I apply mineral oil with a scrunched up plastic bag, let it soak in overnight and buff it in the morning. The board takes the oil beautifully and has a gorgeous patina already. This is a solid, ample surface for food prep, doesn't slide around on the counter, and looks great. All for a good price.
