Heavy & High Quality
I purchased this pan for my bf's birthday present. His taste is what I like to call "EXPENSIVE" and this specific cast iron pan was no exception. When I checked out local stores that carry this specific size of cast iron pan & other websites, I found that I would be spending ATLEAST $100. I can't tell you how overjoyed I was to find sucha killer deal here on Overstock.com and how fast it arrived. The best part is, our steaks have never tasted so juicy thanks to this pan and the ridges give our steaks an added bonus of looking like restraunt style filets. I highly recommend this cast iron pan. If I were to give it any negative comment, its that its REALLY Heavy....but thats to be expecrted in my opinion.

Good bye teflon.
We finally decided the non-stick "teflon" type pans were probably not healthy for us, and we needed a good heavy duty grill pan. We also bought the square panini lid. While the pan is heating up, the lid can be put directly on the gas burner. After about 5 minutes the panini sandwiched can be put in the pan and the lid placed on top. Bingo !! No turning required, and they come out absolutely perfect. We've also seared steaks and chops prior to BBQ'ing them to seal in the juices and provide great grill marks. A lifetime product.

I haven't used Lodge brand before, but will definitely look for these products in the future. This is a great pan.

Fabulous pan--already seasoned and ready to go. Heavy weight for excellent heat retention. Love it! It arrived ahead of schedule, too.

I have gotten several Lodge items and they never disappoint. This is a great cast iron pan with many uses and would certainly look to add more Lodge items.
