I bought a red and a green apple for my 2 married daughters. They loved them! They are very heavy duty and beautiful. Being able to use them in oven and on stove top is great. So far, after a few uses, there is no discoloration. The shape is obviously a little different from a normal pot, smaller at the bottom, so you can't brown a big roast or anything like that, but it's great for smaller pieces and casseroles. Because its tall, you have to put it on a lower oven shelf. They look so cute in the kitchen! Definitely recommend.Read More
I have been obsessed with these apple pots, and recently bought the green one. Since I wanted both, I ordered the red one as well. The quality is the same and this one is also very heavy but the one thing I noticed was that the apple wasn't as dark as the apple picture online. I was expecting a rich red color, but it looked more like a hot sauce color when I pulled it out of the box, but still, I am very satisfied with my purchase.Read More
This is a very nice looking pot and adds a bit of whimsy to your kitchen. I purchased mine and used it for the first time yesterday. It heated evenly, nothing stuck to it and it cleaned very easily. I would recommend.Read More
I was very excited when my parcel arrived, and upon unwrapping it I was far from disappointed. It was exactly as advertised, maybe a little smaller than I had imagined not being used to using quart measurements, but in perfect condition!! The very first time I used it was for an Irish Stew, which turned out perfectly. I'm now in love with using Cast Iron and am on the lookout for more Lodge products. The price was a little more than I'd been hoping to pay, but as with most good things... if you want quality then you need to pay for it. Don't skimp when it comes to your Cast Iron Cookware, go for Lodge instead of one of the cheap brands!Read More
I purchased the pot as a decorative item. I thought it was beautiful and unique. The pot is cast iron. Well made. Probably the heaviest pot i own. I haven't cooked it in - but from the quality of the pot I could roast a piece of meat with absolutely no problem. The color is a deep rich red. Very close to the picture. There was a blemish on the leaf handle. Overstock immediately had a new one sent to my home. I love their customer service. They rate number one in my book. If you love the pot - buy the pot. You will be very happy. It's a show piece.Read More

I Really Enjoy this Pot. I made a pot of beans in it and it was like using my slow cooker. My kitchen is apples so it fits right in...Very happy customer... Thank You Over StockRead More
I love a little splash of color and uniqueness in my life, this fits the bill for my kitchen. I recently bought one of those induction portable burners and I needed iron or certain steel bottomed cookware to work on it. By the way, I HiGHlLY recommend using one, especially if you have electric stove tops, they're unbelievably fast and efficient. Back to this apple pot. Mine did not arrive as shiny as the picture, but it's nice. It also needs a bit more monitoring than I'm used to, to prevent burning. I'd definitely recommend slow, low cooking in it unless of course, your boiling with water. The leaf handle is sturdy, I've no concern that it will come undone or break. You can also use it as a cookie jar or to hold other items or goodies. But be aware that it is heavy, small children may find it a bit daunting to lift the lid and may end up dropping it. I like it and recommend it for its multiple uses and it's looks!Read More

Tips on Cooking with a Cast-iron Skillet
Once you cook with cast iron, you'll understand why people are so attached to this sturdy, efficient cookware. When well-seasoned and cared for properly, cast-iron cookware can last generations and will provide an excellent natural, nonstick surface. Cooking with cast-iron pots and pans isn't much different than using other types of pots and pans, but there are a few important techniques you should be aware of in order to get the most out of your cast-iron cookware.
How to Season Cast-Iron Cookware
Cast-iron cookware has long been a chef's favorite for its even, slow heat and durability. Cast-iron cookware lasts for generations as long as it is well taken care of. Regular seasoning creates a natural non-stick surface and protects the cookware from rusting. Here are the step-by-step instructions for how to season and care for your cast-iron cookware.
Best Pots and Pans
Choosing the perfect cookware is a matter of personal preference and cooking style, but understanding the differences can help every cook. Professional chefs agree that every household needs an 8- to 10-inch skillet, a 5- to 7-quart sauce pan and a stock pot. Choose pans that fit your needs, and you will love cooking with them.
How to Break in a Stainless Steel Frying Pan
Stainless steel frying pans are frequently used by professional chefs and serious cooks at home. Unlike cast-iron fry pans, stainless steel fry pans do not need to be seasoned before use; and unlike nonstick fry pans, you will need to use oil to avoid food sticking to the surface of your stainless steel fry pan and even then, some food will still stick. While these facts might seem like disadvantages, they're actually the reasons why many cooks prefer to use stainless steel fry pans. High-quality stainless steel cookware may not be the best for cooking things like eggs, but for the most flavorful searing of fish, meat and vegetables, stainless steel fry pans are unrivaled. The following steps will teach you how break in your stainless steel fry pan before each use.
How to Season Stainless Steel Pans
While most cooks know that you need to season your food before it will taste good, new cooks might not know that you can also season your pots and pans. Seasoning is a process in which you prepare a pan or other cookware before you use it for the first time. When you season stainless steel pots and pans, you are filling the pores of the pan's surface with carbonized oil, which blocks the oxidation process and therefore keeps the cookware from rusting or pitting. In addition, seasoning helps to prevent food from sticking to the pan. The following steps will teach you how to season and protect your stainless steel pots and pans so they will last longer and work better.
Stainless Steel Cookware Care
For chefs with strong opinions and a no-nonsense approach to cooking, stainless steel cookware is a popular choice. Prized for its resistance to staining, odors, and the transference of flavors, stainless steel cookware is a sound choice for any kitchen. It does require some special care, however, if you want to make the most of your pots and pans.

Electric cooktops range from the conventional metal-coil burner to glass-top halogen units, radiant heat burners and induction stove tops that use electromagnetic energy to heat food. To learn which type of cookware will work best with your electric range, keep reading.
How to Care for Nonstick Cookware
You love your nonstick cookware, so take good care of it. Nonstick cookware has a special coating that can make your cooking healthier by reducing the amount of fat and oil you need to use in your cooking. A nonstick coating also makes it easier to clean your pots and pans, but improper care can ruin the nonstick coating, which causes foods to stick, makes cleaning more difficult and reduces the lifespan of your cookware. The following tips will help you care for your nonstick pans and keep them working like new. By properly caring for your nonstick cookware after each use, you can be assured it will last a long time and remain in good condition.
Tips on Maintaining Your Bronze Bathroom Fixtures
The rich look of oil-rubbed bronze bathroom faucets is an upscale addition to any bathroom style. The copper-red color has a rustic feel, giving the bathroom a warm, inviting feel. Bronze bathroom fixtures are more corrosion resistant than their iron, brass and cast-iron counterparts, but they still require some upkeep. Keeping bronze bathroom fixtures looking shiny and new requires several maintenance and care steps, as moisture and harsh cleaning solutions can easily damage bronze bathroom hardware. Here are a few tips on maintaining your bronze bathroom faucets and other bath fixtures.

Broilers vs Roasting Pans
Broiling pans and roasting pans both have specific uses. While there are many similarities between broiling pans and roasting pans, they each specialize in different areas.
