You can't go wrong with Lodge cast iron cookware. It cooks perfectly. I use the set a lot from cooking corn bread in the oven to vegetables on the stove. Just be sure to clean and store correctly to maintain the seasoned coating. No harsh soaps or scrubbing or it will ruin the coating.

Lodge cast iron cookware is fantastic! I would highly recommend this to a family member or friend. If you've never cooked with cast iron you are missing out. Seriously. Lodge cast iron is made in the United States, and it is of heirloom quality. The lifetime warranty is invaluable, as Lodge Corporation replaced the broken skillet without question or cost to me.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? yes, it's black cast iron
Please tell us about the quality of the product. The quality of this product is fantastic! I have no complaints about that. I've used it several times already and have had wonderful results, especially the non-stick properties of the pre-seasoned cast iron. However, one of the pieces, the 8" skillet, was broken during shipping.
How accurate was the on site description of the product? very accurate
When I told my grandmother that I ordered a set of cast iron pots, she said that she will show me how to season them. I told her that they would arrive already seasoned. She didn’t trust that they would so I waited until she came over to open the box. When she saw them she noticed that they were pre-seasoned and commented on the quality of them. When she approved of them, I knew I picked a winner!
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Same as photo

I love this set! I priced the various pieces out separately and found that by buying them in this set I saved about $30.00, plus free shipping. They arrived well packed and in great condition, ready to go. I've never used cast iron skillets before and wanted to try them out after watching a movie about people touring the European countryside and eating in wonderful gourmet inns along the way. The "extra clips" showed that every single chef used cast iron skillets to cook everything! Fish, meat, veggies, desserts - you name it. I became curious and when i spotted this set at this priice, purchased it. This set will last a lifetime and is everything I'd hoped for - heats up quickly, evenly, sears and browns beautifully - fantastic purchase!

I had cast iron skillets that had been my mother's. When my daughter got married, I gave them to her. Don't know what I was thinking!
These are nice and heavy, substantial and so far so good. The price was exceptional.
How do you get the rust off? One of the pots developed what looks like rust. What did I do wrong? Also, how do you season these cast iron pots?nathalia123 on Aug 6, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello nathalia123, cast iron properly cared for will last a life time if not longer!
I have owned and enjoyed a set of cast iron pans for over 40 years!
To remove the rust use white vinegar and a nylon scour pad. You can also soak the pan for an hour in the white vinegar. Rinse well and thoroughly dry. Once the rust is off, you will want to oil the pan inside and out. Place it in the oven on 350 degrees F for 2 hours. Let the oil bake in.
You can do this oil / bake process for 2 or 3 times to really seal it. Let the pan cool in between though. After cooking with your cast iron skillet, it's best to remove food residue right away when the pan is hot to warm with your nylon scrubby and hot water. You can use a spatula too. You will not need to use dish soap or a soapy pot scrubber like Brillo. These will strip the coating from your pan and allow it to rust again. After you clean the pan, dry it and use more oil to lightly coat the pan. It's important to remember to not use abrasive detergents. Always dry your pan thoroughly after washing. These are wonderful pans and a great way to cook! I hope this information is helpful to you. Thank you for shopping with us!

Will a magnet stick to the bottom of the pans? I have an induction cooktop. Some pans that claim to be cast iron won't hold a magnet so I just want to be sure. Thanksmontreat99 on Mar 15, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

Lodge seasoned uses a proprietary soy-based vegetable oil to season our cookware. This oil has been Orthodox Union Kosher certified. The oil contains no animal fat or peanut oil. The seasoning is functional application and slight inconsistencies may appear in the seasoning finish. The inconsistencies will not affect cooking performance.overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 23, 2012
