This patio umbrella stand would be perfect, except for the fact that the threaded parts of the base and of the extensions strip very easily, so that the umbrella ends up always shaky when inserted into its stand. A little breeze or wind will blow the umbrella, extended or closed, out of the stand because anything screwed into the base separates from the base, when there is air movement . Otherwise, the appearance of the stand is very attractive, its weight is heavy enough to be very difficult to move and heavy enough to hold my large patio umbrella even in wind, if only the threads would hold, and it stands up well to any kind of weather. I would be delighted with this stand, if only the umbrella would stay in it!

I recently bought this and it came in perfect condition. A little pricey for an overstock.com item but still a good value. It looks really nice and chic and holds the umbrella perfectly and thight. Heavy enough too.

I actually loved the item but it did not fit a 2" pole. I contacted customer service and they resolved the problem for me. I will use overstocks again, even thought this item didn't work out for me. They were fab, and it was a great product. I wish it had worked for my umbrella because in every other way it was perfect!

The size indicated is incorrect. This does not fit a 2" umbrella pole. I received and was disappointed as the product specs are incorrect.

this is the best umbrella stand that I ever bought. It is wekk made, it will not rust and i is heavy enough to keep my umbrella steady in a high wind... Love it... I trashed the previous stands, they couldn't compare.

This stand can hold my 11 foot umbrella. Prevoius stands too short and light, and would topple over on our windy hill side deck. Our last base took a ride off the deck and snapped our umbrella. This base is taller covering more of the wooden pole, heavier then other bases I have bought, by twice the weight, fifty lbs does not move. If you need stability this base is the one...best I have found.

Unfortunately, even though its cast iron, it arrived unusable. The knobs on the side used to tighten the umbrella into the stand were completely broken off. They were made of plastic. Also, the pole that screws into the stand was bent so it can't be screwed in-- so the thing is useless. I bought it thinking that it would be strong and would last, but it didn't even make it through the delivery process. I would NOT recommend this to a friend.

The weight that screws into the base doesn't fit and the top part of the base is very light... too light to hold an umbrella up in any kind of wind. I had put an umbrella I had purchased in Bali into the base. A light wind came up and "bang!" -- my umbrella crashed and was broken.

this was my first time ordering from overstock.com, the umbrella stand is very impressive it's strong sturdy and is very expensive looking but with a not so expensive price! It holds my umbrella in place even in a mild wind. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a good quality stand. I would order from overstock.com again it was a great experience and a smooth and easy transaction!
