Buyer Beware
from UpState New York,  Oct 8, 2008

I purchased this after reading the reviews and decided to pay the additional $10.00 for the steel hose but realized it doesn't matter if you have a steel hose being the majority of the other components are plastic. When trying to tighten the connector, it cracked because it was plastic, when securing the shower head, it cracked, again it was plastic. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone, extremely disappointing quality.

Very good hand held shower unit
from Virginia Beach, Virginia,  Sep 10, 2006

I'm inppressed with the Lisboa hand held shower. It is well made and the chrome hose doesn't tangle. There is very good water flow at all the adjustments. There is one thing I wasn't so impressed with. The adjuster to switch shower types is difficult to rotate. Overall I do plan to purchase another one. It's a very good product for the price.

Fabulous!!!!
from New York City,  Jul 27, 2008

I needed a new hose/handled shower head. The casing of where the hose screws onto the head on my current one was cracked and would often let loose with a steam of water if you tried to move or adjust the head. Sometimes it was a stream of water that shot over the shower curtain and into the bathroom... time for a new one. So I went to my old, trusted standby online retailer Overstock to see what they had available. I ordered this one (with the metal hose) and thought it would be a 50/50 as to wether or not I would be happy with it from the other reviews I read. Well let me tell you... I am ECSTATIC about this shower head! I think first most, I took the water limiter out like other people had mentioned, that was the absolute right thing to do. It was a bit hard to figure out where it was (actually in the piece that screws to the pipe coming out of your bathroom wall that you then mount the hose and head on) but I got that out and went on to install. I did need a pair of vice grips to loosen and tighten during installing, but not a big deal. I would for sure recommend you pay the extra for the metal hose. It hangs much better, is easier to use and just looks better. I will agree with the one review that said the handle is loose in the holder once you get the thing mounted, but if you have it as the right angle it doesn't seem to be an issue. It's nice and high if you are tall, and with the fitting being looser it's easier to pull out to use then some of the others I have had. I usually don't adjust the settings as far as the stream goes. I just have it on the basic shower setting, but it is fantastic. It is the best feeling shower I have had in this apartment going on 5 years now. And I don't know if the water limiter has anything to do with this, but I live in an older building and I used to have a terrible time with the water temp when trying to shower. I was forever adjusting and readjusting the hot and cold. It would switch from one to the other almost with no warning either sending ice cubes through the shower or scalding the flesh off your bones. And then when you would try and adjust, as in it was too cold so you would turn down the cold, it would get colder... it's one of my biggest complaints about this building I live in. Anyway, again... I don't know if the water limiter thing has anything to do with it but I hadn't taken it out of my old shower head assembly, but now that I have with this one it seems to have almost made the problem go away. Whatever it is, I love the shower head and pressure and I am just so so grateful that I can now take a shower without spending more time trying to adjust the temp than actually showering. Thanks Overstock!!

Hand Held Shower Head
 from Minnesota,  Feb 2, 2008

This is a very nice shower head the preassure is pretty good it is the same as the shower haed that was in our apartment the only thing I don't like about it is the fact that the plastic holder that holds the shower head is to big for the shower head so it fits in the sloppy loose and has fell off and hit us in the head a couple of times. I would highly recomend the steal shower hose for this shower head the plastic one is just a stiff peice of plastic hose.

Lukewarm
from Houston, Texas,  Jan 12, 2008

What can I say? It's a regular shower head - nothing special. It looks nice, but the water pressure is nothing to be impressed with. We're going to try removing the filter like someone said in another review to make it better. Happy we got the steel hose because the plastic one that also comes with it is totally cheesy.

Great value for money
from New York, NY,  Nov 20, 2007

I was worried about the water pressure decreasing a lot, especially after reading reviews from others, but it turned out fine. The pressure decreased a little from the regular shower head that came with my apartment, but it was not significant enough to bother me. I've used this product for about a month now and I have no complaints. The different settings are nice and easy to use. Even my guests who have used the shower have said they liked it without me even asking them! Great value for the money. I recommend this shower head!

Good showerhead, comparable price to store brands. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is because the nozzle adjuster is a little hard to turn and it did not come with directions, other than that, I would recommend this showerhead.

Chrome COLOR not METAL actually
from Deland, Florida,  Sep 1, 2006

I just had to go to a local hardware store to get a replacement part for this as the hardware piece that attaches to the shower pipe broke in half inside the cuff of the swivel bit that holds the whole apparatus. I did buy two and only one has broken and after it broke i took a good look at the other one and noticed it's mechanism that attaches to the showerpipe fitting is actually different from the one that broke ! Go figure but maybe they improved it? no clue as i got two different bits but the handheld part was all the same. The point is i spent time energy and gas and being an amateur plumber repairing the one that broke and paying for the new piece, and the piece that broke WAS PLASTIC and when i bought the thing i truly thought CHROME MEANT CHROME METAL, not CHROME COLORED PLASTIC. But the stainless steel hose is nice, argh ! And the other ones i saw at the store yesterday were not all metal either, just i read the ad wrong and when the plastic bit broke it added to the metal being preferred. I did get a metal replacement piece and now it's all happy again and works great. And i did not want to go thru the hassle or blahblah of returning it ! Having said all that i still love buying from Overstock and still will. But for showerheads and possible having to replace parts i'd recommend going local in case something breaks it is easier to get help and refunds and replacement parts without mailing it out:)

Hose not long enough.
from Newark, New Jersey,  Nov 29, 2011

Hose was not long enough and the product is made of plastic. I guess you get what you pay for.

  • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Color is silver as seen.
  • Please tell us about the quality of the product. I ordered metal and got plastic.
  • How accurate was the on site description of the product? Thought I was getting metal.

Shower head
from San Francisco, CA,  Mar 11, 2009

The shower head looks good but does not have a water saver feature. The head is heavy and hard to hold when hands are soapy. If water usage is not limited the head provides nice water flow to tingle the skin. The plastic hose is mutch too short and useless. I would say that the shower head is OK but not great.

handheld shower
 from dc,  Jan 2, 2008

the water pressure is not very good and the rubber washers that came with it do not fit.the main problem though is that the part that holds the hand held shower doesn't hold it and it is constantly falling out and spraying water all over

Nice water flow
from Deerfield, Ma,  Jun 5, 2007

I have gone through quite a few of these. It doesn't seem to matter whether I spend a lot or little. They last from a year to 18 months usually. This one is better than most. You have to tinker with the different fastenings to get the arm to stay where it is adjusted to. Good Value for money. Really easy to install even came with a little teflon tape.

No water pressure
 from US,  Sep 25, 2006

If you have low water pressure, this will NOT work for you! We happen to have serious water pressure and this shower head reduced our water pressure to very, very low. The spray is only a 6 inch diameter--very small, there are only two settings and then two worthless settings somewhere in between. I've grown to really like it, but I wish that I'd bought it from somewhere that accepted returns because I would have returned it for sure. It's worth it to get the metal hose.
