I was looking for a classic-modern chandelier just like this, and hadn't seen a single one I liked in three big stores. I love the linear orientation since my dining room table is an oval, not circle or square, even in its smallest form. I was sligtly worried that the yellow glass shades (as opposed to white) wouldn't match the room, but they're such a light, neutral yellow that the effect is perfect - it takes the compact-flourescent bulbs and warms them up a bit, and it looks perfect. The 4 stars for appearance and workmanship are because the finish is slightly flawed, but it's nothing I'll ever notice except when I'm right up close changing the bulbs; and because there were little stickers on each lamp base that left a residue I had to remove with Goo Gone. But overall, this is exactly what I wanted, it looks wonderful hanging in my dining room, it's the perfect size, and 5 60-watt CFLs make the room nice and cheery even at night! (that's another nice thing: the shades are big enough to handle full-sized bulbs, didn't have to be the candle-sized ones.) One more thing not mentioned in the description: it came with a 6th shade, so we have an extra I guess in case one ever breaks. Nice!
