The two chairs come packed together in one box; one chair is assembled, the other not. To assemble it you have to slip the wood back, via screws already in it, into and on the metal uprights. My uprights were a mere 1-1/2 16th" too wide for the placement of the screws in the back of the wood. Tiny measurment but enough to prohibig slipping the wood piece smoothly, or at all, ontothe metal braces. Could not remove and reset screws because of that small measurement (screw holes would be huge) so I had to clamp the upright metal braces together and pull them toward each other. Not too big of a deal but shows the workmanship is less than perfect.
Also, two deep but short scratches on the seat beneath the wrapping. I colored them with a furniture stick and they are fine, blend right in.
Aesthetically, the chairs are gorgeous and heavy. I may add thicker pads to the feet so the metal does not wear on my ceramic tile. The current pads are thin.
All in all, almost perfect. I have not unpacked the table yet.
