I purchased this to replace a ceiling fan above my 8 foot DIY dining room table. It was a nice ceiling fan, but useless...not a "fan" of a ceiling fan going while I'm eating. This chandelier is perfect for the dining room and the scale is just right for my table. It looks like a million bucks! I paid significantly less than $200 with coupons and O Rewards so it was a great deal. The crystals sparkle and people driving by actually slow down to stare into my dining room window! It is very bright, so we did have to install a dimmer. It took a lot of attempts to make sure the cables were even. I ended up hanging it ALMOST straight and then pushed the cables up (very slowly and millimeter by millimeter) to make sure it was straight. I guess using a level helped a little but the wave in the fixture made it difficult to gauge if it was really straight, at least for me. I just had to eye it. I recommend hanging the crystals once the fixture is up and level...I couldn't imaging trying to hang install this chandelier with all the crystals on. It took about two hours from start to finish (not including taking down the 1000 piece ceiling fan), but soooo worth it...I am very pleased. Highly recommended!

We bought this for over our kitchen table. I wasn't sure if it would be dark enough to match our other oil rubbed bronze finisges and it wasn't but we bought a $* can of "rustoleum oil rubbed bronze" and sprayed the whole thing down in 5-10 minutes and it is perfect!! Like other reviewers I left the glass out and it looks great and has gotten tons of compliments! I bought a second one to replace the ceiling fan in my family room and we hung it almost flush with the ceiling (2 chains showing) and it really modernized my family room! I used the same can of rustoleum to spray the 2nd fixture down and it was just enough! So happy with this light!

Very pretty, but big! Make sure your space is big enough or ceilings are tall enough

I love this fixture! I am giving it 4 stars because I haven't hung it yet, so I am not sure how well it works. The glass is very think and dark. I am slightly concerned that the lighting will be dim.

This is a beautiful fan that is -- as far as ceiling fans go -- relatively easy to install. In operation, it's absolutely silent and moves a good volume of air. For those with 8' ceilings, you'll also be happy to note that the default downrod is perfect as it leaves plenty of space under the fixture. For those who have issues with the brightness of the light, be sure to read PAGE 16 of your manual. Yes, it's not super bright in any case, but it ships at a default of level of 50% brightness so you need to adjust the brightness to the appropriate level.

Took me about 2 hours to assemble, but is absolutely stunning when complete. I used clear LED bulbs that are dimmable. When turned on, it casts beautiful patterns of lighting around the ceiling. Looks very elegant. There are NO INSTRUCTIONS provided :( Tips: 1. Install upside-down, and wrap each crystal in tissue paper so it doesn't scratch while laying next to each other 2. There are 3 different lengths of crystal strings (short, medium, long). Make sure to attach the short ones on the outside, and the long ones on the inside, so it drapes correctly when hung. I made a mistake, and had to reassemble, which was annoying. Overall, happy with this purchase.

We did not realize how tall the "candle" part of this lamp is. It almost touched the ceiling where the wiring is for installation. Be sure you have a lot of room between your wiring and your ceiling.

Great looking sconce with great illumination. Provides great lighting for a hallway and enough lighting to illuminate a piece of art on the opposite wall. Be sure to follow instructions when installing - it will cut time by 50%.

I purchased 2 of these lights to go in my foyer. We had just installed one of those ****** spider chandeliers on the ceiling of our two storey foyer, and needed some fixtures that would complement. I really love them. Not only do they look ultra cool and unique, but the soft, yellowish lighting they put out is so very warm and inviting and... Kinkade-ish!! I will admit at first, I wasn't sure if I liked the yellow lighting, because I was so accustomed to that bright fluorescent light of the energy saving light bulbs. But after a day of looking at it, I was sold! It gives the home a much more old fashioned, family feel. These lights are great, they come with a bulb, and we're easy to install.
On September 4, 1882 , one square mile of lower Manhattan was aglow with light as the first commercial power station went into operation. Thanks to Thomas Edison's brilliance, for about 24 cents per kilowatt hour, 59 customers were provided with lights and electricity at night. By the late 1880s, the demand for that service had grown so much that small power stations could be found in many U.S. and European cities. We're still amazed by all the practical and aesthetic possibilities offered by lighting . Electrifying Timeline: Arc lamps preceded light bulbs. Read More
