This is a mixed review because I bought the heaters in January 2013 and kept them until Christmas of 2013. I kept one and give one to my daughter for Christmas. Mine works perfect, hers worked two days and stopped. We contacted Lifesmart and they sent the parts that they thought to be the problem, they weren't. Now they want us to send it to them and we pay for the shipping there. It never worked and I don't like that I have to pay to ship it backRead More
Nice dependable heaters, with remotes. Bought these to use in our home but my college age children took them back to college. They really put out the heat and now that the temp is in the 20's the kids love them. They heat a large area and look great. Energy efficient tooRead More
Very disappointing purchase. First of all there is no way this can heat even 500 sqft. We have it our living room and it cannot even keep up when outside temperatures are 40's to 50's. We live in rural NH and usually heat with a combination of wood and oil. We thought we would try these heaters because we all use little electric heaters for our bedrooms at night. Given the price of oil we thought we could invest in these heaters for our downstairs which is just under 1000 sq ft. I would have liked to returned these but the shipping was 65.00 to return, so we will put them in bedrooms and hope for the best.Read More
Haven't tried both. We have one in our livingroom to supplement the heat. We have propane which is very expensive so this heater takes the chill out of the air when we watch tv. I don't think it is capable of heating 1200 sq feet. I will use the other in the basement level.Read More
heaters are very efficient. Need to remember to not set base temp too high. They are attractive and are smaller in size without sacrificing performance.Read More
Love the size even though I expected them to be a little larger, love the wood grain casing & the fact they are not hot to touch the casing that is, how they are easy to move room to room with ease runs quietly and really heats up a large area have one for work and home the one at work everyone loves and says how well it heats up the room this is a really large room with a lot of open windows love it would recommend to others and they were price just right not to prices but good qualityRead More
Questions & Answers
Hello, I dont think this would work in Canada with out a converter. If you add this item to your cart it will tell you the shipping cost. I do not know what warehouse this would be shipping from. This would not be covered by the warranty out side of the USA because of the voltage. The use of zone heating saves both money and energy. LIFESMART offers ultra-efficient, safe and evenly distributed heat at less cost than other heating systems. Infrared works great and it is more energy efficient than many other heaters.
What is the cost to run these per hour?
If the heater is used as it is intended (as supplement/assist heat), it should cycle on and off, allowing for it to heat a total of approximately 8 out of the 24 hours of the day. Using the national average of approximately 10¢ per kWh (look at your bill for exact cost per kWh--will vary per state), your average heating cost (add a few cents just for having it plugged in) should be less per day compared to your main furnace. The costs will increase if it is used as the single source of heat, or if heat somehow escapes the room being heated, since the ?on? cycle will run longer. The Formula: To determine the cost of this or ANY 1500 watt appliance, multiply 1.5 X your cost per Kilowatt Hour to determine approximately how much it costs you to run the heater. You can find the cost per KWH prices for your state at: http://www.eia.doe.gov/fuelelectric.html
Where are these unit made?
They are made in China.
how long is the cord, most are to short

A History of Electric Light
On September 4, 1882, one square mile of lower Manhattan was aglow with light as the first commercial power station went into operation. Thanks to Thomas Edison's brilliance, for about 24 cents per kilowatt hour, 59 customers were provided with lights and electricity at night. By the late 1880s, the demand for that service had grown so much that small power stations could be found in many U.S. and European cities. We're still amazed by all the practical and aesthetic possibilities offered by lighting.

What to Pack for Africa's Highest Peak
Imagine that you are planning a trip that will take you from the equator to Antarctica in seven days. Now imagine that you have to limit the amount of gear you pack to 35 pounds or less. The task is getting more complicated. What kind of luggage would you choose and how would you pack for a trip that encompasses such extreme changes in climate and altitude? When Erica Davis, a paraplegic athlete, and Tara Butcher, a physically challenged athlete, climb Africa's highest peak, they will have to answer exactly those questions. The challenge: Mount Kilimanjaro rises from nearly sea level all the way up to 19,330 feet. The trail climbs from the hot bushland through rain forest, moorland, alpine desert and arctic glaciers up to the rocky Uhuru peak. A climb like Mt. Kili presents special challenges when it comes to luggage, clothing and gear. Being prepared for the weather and temperature extremes is a necessity, but it's also important not to pack too much. There is a 35-pound weight limit to each piece of luggage carried by a porter. Most climbers pack one 35-pound capacity bag to go up with a porter and one small daypack to carry up themselves. The daypack: Erica and Tara will have 7 days to summit Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro. As they pass from one ecological zone to the next, their needs will change and so will the contents of their daypacks. Each day Erica and Tara will repack their daypacks in anticipation of the specific challenges of the day's journey. In general, their daypacks will include things like water, snacks, dry clothing, waterproof gear and sunscreen. The importance of keeping clothing and gear dry cannot be overstated. When choosing a daypack, a small to medium backpack made of lightweight, moisture-resistant material that comes with a removable waterproof shell will be ideal. It's also helpful if the backpack has convenient access to a water bottle compartment or can accommodate a water bladder. Plenty of pockets, zipper compartments and hooks are also handy. What to pack: A sturdy but lightweight water-repellant duffel bag with a capacity of about 35 pounds is ideal for the trek to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The bag needs to have room for plenty of layers of breathable, moisture-wicking clothing and layers of fleece clothing, as well as a waterproof layer. To save space, it's a good idea to pack clothing that does double duty, such as pants that easily convert into shorts. Aside from clothing, the climb will also require accessories like sunglasses, hats and gloves, plus equipment like trekking poles and a headlamp, as well as toiletries like sunscreen, insect repellent and a first-aid kit. Support the Challenged Athletes Foundation: Overstock.com and the C.H.E.K Institute are co-sponsoring Erica and Tara's climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise awareness for athletes with physical challenges who wish to participate and compete in sports. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). CAF raises funds to give physically challenged athletes the opportunity to stay active and competitive in the sports they love. To show your support for physically challenged athletes like Erica and Tara, donate now to the Challenged Athletes Foundation for the Fit 4 Kili Climb. How to Size a Space Heater
Before you purchase a new space heater, size it to make sure it will have enough British thermal units (BTUs) to heat the room where the heater will be used. A BTU is the amount of energy needed to heat 1 pound of water 1 degree Fahrenheit. All space heaters clearly identify this number on the packaging, so you don't have to worry about doing any additional calculations.

Most Popular Types of Garden Fountains
Fountains add the relaxing sound of running water to any setting. Outdoor fountains allow water to spout, jet, pour or trickle into a basin before draining away. Fountains range in size from burbling rock gardens ideal for tabletops to large pieces of public art. If you live in an urban area or a busy apartment complex, you can use a fountain to create a sense of privacy by masking traffic and other noises. When choosing an outdoor fountain, first consider how much space you have. Many yards can accommodate large pedestal-style outdoor fountains while a smaller fountain will create a focal point in a petite flower garden. The longer the waterfall, the more noise it creates; consider volume when choosing your garden fountain.
