A Pre-Raphaelite painter from London, Leighton's passions were Medieval scenes, romantic moments between lovers, and selections from historical events. The son of a painter, many of his paintings depict a story or associates itself with a significant tale or legend. Painted in 1900, 'Godspeed' is sometimes referred to 'As A Lady's Favour'. It's current location is unknown. 'The Accolade' was painted in 1901 and now hangs in a private collection.
Both selections include a sculpted frame with gentle engravings designed to emphasize the art. The frames also include a wooden liner with a subtle fillet. The frame color is black with a rich antique gold as an accent.

I had admired these prints for some time and I was thrilled when I found this set on Overstock at such a great price. They are great reproductions on canvas and were exactly as described.

I've admired these paintings for a long time. This type of artwork was a very economical way to add them to the home decor. The color of the frames go well with the other colors in the room. If you compare, they are much more expensive elsewhere. The only flaw was a slight smear on the black part of the frame but, I'm quite happy with the purchase.

The prints are of good quality. I was very happy when I opened the package. But they were smaller than I thought they would be. Overstock needs to state the size of the paintings or prints.
