A classical painter who produced highly finished works of art, Leighton was also an excellent portraitist.
Leighton was a sophisticated, cosmopolitan figure, having spent much of his early life in Italy. Exposed to a wider range of influences than many other English painters of his day, Leighton was influenced by both Nazarene and Italian Renaissance painters.
Flaming June includes a sculpted frame with gentle engravings designed to emphasize the art. The frame also includes a wooden liner with a subtle fillet. The frame color is a merlot with rich walnut undertones.

I love this print; I've seen the original in the museum in Ponce, Puerto Rico and she was beautiful. However, I was shocked at how tiny this Overstock print was when I unwrapped the shipping paper. I kept it but had I known, I wouldn't have ordered it and waited for a larger image to become available.

Leighton achieved a masterpiece when you consider the difficult art of displaying the color orange in a dominant presence in Flaming June. This copy looks excellent. The original can be enjoyed at the Ponce Museum of Art in Puerto Rico.

This painting is cropped quite a bit, and smaller than I imagined (yes, I saw the dimensions posted - I should have paid more attention). It's a beautiful piece, and the frame is very nice. It arrived VERY well wrapped/protected. Overall, I'm satisfied, but I wish it wasn't cropped so much.

Looks better online
This is a very small picture and the image quality is poorer in reality than it appears online. I probably would have returned it but can't deal with the hassle right now.

Gourgous painting
I owned this painting once before(lost it in my divorce) but Igot the dog. I bought this for my mother who loved it at my house and asked if I could get her one..The rest is history.

I expected the print to be bigger.
Other than that, it is beautiful. It's my fault for not checking the dimensions beforehand. I had wanted a much bigger print, but I'll put this one in one of my bathrooms, so I can make it work.
