I purchased the brown leather storage bench for my new home and love it. There have been many compliments on it as well. I couldn't believe how well made it is, very sturdy (including the hinges) and spacious. I purchased quite a few pieces from Overstock to fill my larger home and have been very satisfied with Overstock overall. You just can't beat the prices, quality and customer service.

I live in Manhattan so driving around to furniture stores is not really practical nor is it a viable option. Overstock has therefor become my saving grace for a number of household items and this last time was no exception. For anyone considering not buying this item-- I urge you to reconsider-- it is beautiful and the velvet lining on the inside makes it a great "safe" place for guest down comforters, blankets, games....whatever. I currently have it set up in my hallway where it adds charm, beauty and is the perfect finishing touch. The warm chocolate brown goes with anything including black. It was incredibly easy to set up, shipping was fast...to say I am pleased is an understatement; I am absolutely thrilled. For new yorkers or anyone with space constraints-- this is perfect for extra seating, storage or simply for looks.

I purchased this bench a few months ago. I still totally love it but I have to say it is not the quality I first thought it was. This is a bench you absolutely cannot sit on. I have 2 little girls who love to lie on it. After a couple of months the stitches started to fall apart. I use it now as a coffee table, no one is allowed on it. It is too bad because the leather is beautiful and I really loved it. So be careful on what you are planning to use it for. Would I buy it again? definitively! But as a coffee table

I purchased this bench several months ago to use it at the foot of our bed. It was to serve two purposes. First, a place to sit while putting on shoes and second, a landing for our small dogs to use to get on and off the bed. It was absolutely a beautiful piece of furniture and I was so happy to have it. But the seams are falling apart on it. It is a great bench to look at but is not for everyday use. I am very disappointed with the lack of durability. If you plan to use it just for a storage compartment or as a coffee table, not as a bench it works. Outside of that, don't buy it.

I own a clothing boutique in san francisco and i thought this would make a nice addition. it does. easy to assemble and it looks nice, the leather is average quality. but...it is not 20" high as claimed. it is only 18, and the length is just over 48" not 50 as claimed. the depth is 20". the inside of mine didn't have any smell, i plan on using the storage part for over stock and it is fine. someone claimed it had a velvet lining. nope it's just average black felt. but fine. great value. remember this is not meant for comfortable seating. it's an ottoman.. fine for a customer resting their tired dogs, or setting their purse down. but someone said it was hard. it's an ottoman. LOL ...it's for putting on your shoes, not watching TV...thanks overstock. good service, bad measuring. still im keeping it. i may add bigger feet to raise it in the future.

I rarely write reviews but just had to share my experience with this purchase. The bench is absolutely beautiful and very well made. I agree that's odd that they continue to include the allen wrench since the screws are phillps head, but attaching the legs took less than 5 minutes and once set up, the bench provides sturdy, comfortable seating and plenty of storage for the bedroom. Well worth the money spent. The inside is very smelly and the chemical odor out of the box was overwhelming, but it's airing out nicely and I don't expect any problems. I would definitely buy another one! One question I wondered about that was not in the description is that the lid does stay open on its own. I would buy another one if other colors were offered!

First time buyer and I was impressed. I ordered on Thursday, it arrived on Tuesday. The expresso brown storage ottoman matches my leather couch perfectly. It's heavy duty and sturdy, but yet comfortable to sit on. The inside storage holds several blankets and pillows. It's very well made. The hinges are sturdy and the inside is lined with black fabric. The only thing I would watch is the height of this ottoman. If you couch is low or your sink down into it, watch the height. It was a little higher than I thought, but it still works for me. The 4" legs could be removed to lower it a little. It's an awesome piece.

This is a well constructed bench with great style. I get lots of compliments on it. It is a beautiful dark coffee bean color. It has lots of storage space...I use mine to store my childs's toy's. I didn't rate it a 5, only because the seat could be a little softer, but for ocassional seating, it's fine.

We received the leather storage bench that I just ordered on Sunday!! This is the first time I have ever written a review, but I felt the need to do so because of this product. It is well made......definitely a bargin for the price......and very classy looking. It was extremely easy to put together, and the storage area is larger than I had anticipated. The leather is really nice quality. This is truly a nice accent to our bedroom. 7/10/08

The bench came as a pleasant surprise! The picture does not do it justice! I recently purchased a king-sized bed and the bench not only was a perfect match but the length and the height are just right. The detail of the craftmanship is comparable to other benches you'll find at reputable furniture stores around. I like the fact that the leather is smooth and sturdy because I have a 4 year old boy who wreaks havoc everywhere he goes! The only thing that could have been improved is the floor of the storage compartment, which is a little flimsy. Don't plan on putting heavy items in the storage. It's perfect for blankets, throws and similar light weight items. I'm really glad I bought the bench! Let me just mention that Overstock's ridiculously cheap shipping totally rocks! You won't regret your purchase, I assure you!

I ordered this bench on a Friday and it arrived the following Wednesday. It was packaged well and easy to assemble. It's one of the nicest leather benches I've seen and the price makes it even better. Don't worry it's not really shiny either, the picture doesn't do it justice. And the storage capacity is much better than I anticipated. I'm definitely coming back to Overstock when it's time to buy the chair.

Just got my dark brown leather storage bench and couldn't be happier. It actually looks better in real life than on the website. It is heavy (I could not lift it by myself) I even needed help getting it out of the box. It did not take long to assembly. My husband just used his electric screwdriver to add the feet and it was done. I was actually surprised by the quality. I have looked at these in the stores and I have not been able to find anything that looked this good. The deep brown is beautiful. It gives the impression of a rich chocolate. I am tickled pink at the amount of extra storage this provides at the foot of my king sized bed. I also like the fact the hinges remain in place when you lift the lid. The delivery was really fast, as well. I placed the order on a Friday and it was at my house on Thursday morning. It was in perfect condition and it smelled just like leather. Overall, I am quite pleased with this storage bench and I think anyone who buys it would be also. If you are still unsure, read the reviews and see what the majority of people are saying. I think they are just like me, willing to let others know about their experience with this bench.

I checked out all the reviews for this and other storage benches on overstock, and settled on this one because it had the best reviews. I'm glad i did! It's a great bench, with very high quality leather (better leather than my nice leather couches!), and fits perfectly under the windowsills. The only assembly I had to do was to put the "feet" on the bench.

Bench is truly nicer than I thought it would be. Very pleased. It is a nice accent piece in my bedroom. Had touble finding a nice bench wide enough to put at end of bed. This is perfect! Sturdy construction and very attractive. Tremendous value.

I have always had good luck with overstock in the past, but wasn't sure if this would live up. Believe me, it does. I can't believe the value for the price. The amount of storage is good and it is very stylish. It would fit with many design styles and we love it.

I hemmed and hawed for about a year before I bought this chest. It was rather a large purchase without being able to see it and touch it. But I am so glad I finally took the plunge. The only assembly is screwing the feet on. The hinges are quiet and look very highend, for what that's worth. It is beautiful and I really like it a lot.

We ordered this bench to use as a coffee table and to store toys inside. It was just what I was expecting -- nice rich appearance, sturdy enough to sit on without caution, lots of storage space. It will be good for our 8-month-old to pull up on and cruise around. There were no assembly instructions but it was very straightforward: basically, just screw the feet on and adjust the tension of the lid-closing hinge. Everything I needed was enclosed except a screwdriver. I did notice that each of the feet was a bit roughed-up on the side that contacts the floor (as if it had been assembled and used as a floor model). The damage was very minimal and only on the bottoms of the feet (all the leather appeared brand new) and it didn't bother me at all, but might annoy some. Overall, I am thrilled with this bench. It is even flat enough to hold drinks without using a tray (although I will have to see if this marks the leather). You can't beat Overstock for low shipping!

I love it!, we've had it for about 4 months now and it's great. I saw a review stating that it's not real leather?? well, it IS leather. We have a 9 month old baby so we figured it would be very baby friendly safetywise. We store his books and toys inside, we open it at least twice a day and don't have any issues with the hinges. I would buy one for my bedroom if I had the space!

I was given the Dark Brown Leather Storage Bench as a gift 2 1/2 years ago and have enjoyed having it so much that this Christmas 2007 I bought one as a gift for a member of my family. They are a wonderful piece of furniture and the leather gets nicer and softer every day. It is a beautiful addition in the bedroom at the foot of the bed or as a coffee table in the living room. Storage is great, as it is roomy. The person I gave the bench to for Christmas was thrilled to receive it as he had admired mine. The Dark Brown Leather Storage Bench is defiently worth the money spent.

As others mentioned, the inner lining is thin black felt, but that doesn't matter to me at all. It looks nice, but there were some small scratches on the exterior leather upon arrival. We decided to deal with it. There were also dents and small areas without paint on the feet. We decided to attach the feet so those would face the back. The hinges are nice and the top doesn't slam down, but needs you to push it like a car trunk which is a real plus. We keep linens in it, and sit on it while putting on shoes.
