This was a gift for my mother. The floral print is small and subtle. There was a very heavy smell when we opened the bag. My guess was the sizing? Anyway, we washed everything and hung the comforter on the line to dry and the smell was no longer there. The shams and comforter are very soft and my mother was very pleased.
This is a nice looking comforter - if you want it for looks alone, buy it. It gives a "cottage" feeling which I expected in something from Laura Ashley. The feel of the comforter itself - very stiff (not the fabric on the exterior but whatever they have inside the fabric) - it does not fold over softly as I would expect. I put it on the bed with the rest of the set - it looked nice. It feels medium range in keeping us warm (November in Southern California).The next time I changed the sheets I placed the comforter in a large plastic zipper bag and put it in the garage. I will take it to the local D. A. V. the next time I go.
I bought this to replace a Laura Ashley set that didn't fit on my new bed. Compared to the prices I found elsewhere, this was a great deal. Now I'm looking for the sheets to go with it.
