Woven in the Oriental style at Aubusson for the Industrial Exhibition of 1844, the original measures over 18-feet high and 23-feet long and includes gold and silver thread. This piece features rich tones in brown, sage, forest, cream, burgundy, gold, marigold, and rust, it also measures a smaller 60 inches x 80 inches.

When I first opened and saw the tapestry I was disappointed because it looked so plain. The colors are not vibrant but subdued. However, we did some things to it that made it really look terrific and expensive. We hung it up against a wall painted dark red. That made the colors in the tapestry pop out. We sewed a large gold fringe on the bottom, like some of the more expensive ones have. We used a decorative wood curtain rod and placed a beautiful tassel on each side of it. These few things made it look great and eveyone who see's it loves it. This is a very large tapestry and needs a large space for it. It will be the focal point of your room. Thanks Overstock.com for giving us a large piece of art for a reasonable price.

I was very happy with the apearance of this piece. Other buyers should be aware though that the colors are very different from the picture. The picture shows burgandies and rich browns with some gold. In reality it is much more muted,mostly beige with some light brown and small touches of dark red. Still a very beautiful piece.

I collect elephants and I was so very disappointed with this tapestry. On the website the colors and hues throughout the tapestry were golden and warm giving the appearance of an antique old world look. With this tapestry the colors were off and not attractive, the fabric also had a thin poor quality feel to it. No wonder it was not expensive. My search continues for another elephant tapestry.
