We have had the rack for about a month now, so I do now know how well the plastic joints will hold up over the years (hence 4 rather than 5 stars for durability). The rack is a perfect fit for our bathroom/laundry room, which has a relatively long rectangular area that allows me to open up the rack and still be able to walk around it. I like the fact that I can use it as a folding table for the clothes and then can fold it up and put it away. The fact that only the middle part of the rack has clothes hanging over other clothes makes the clothes dry faster since they are not touching each other.
Purchased this awhile back and is the BEST drying rack I've ever owned. Don't let the price deter your purchase. I don't know how many inexpensive racks I've wasted $$ on. Very adaptable, very very sturdy and will hold several household rugs to air dry. I keep mine outdoors (in the South) and the humidity has not affected it at all! easily adjusts for multiple uses & sizes of objects. I've even dryed a quilt on it.
Very well constructed drying rack. It holds a lot. It was not inexpensive but I purchased another much cheaper rack from another store and it was impossible to assemble and fell apart in about a week.
I think the design of this is great. I haven't used my dryer since I bought this and even plan to use it some this winter by setting it up in front of my heater. Takes no room to store and very easy to set up. Can set up one side if that's all you need.
