An executive chef by trade, I was hesitant to buy a pasta machine made in China, especially for such a low price. I considered the more expensive Italian machines were the way to go, but I took the risk and purchased this one anyway. Ironically, one of my sous chefs brought his own Italian machine to our restaurant the day after I received delivery of my own. Mine had greater weight, superior construction, and a wider roller. When I told my sous what I paid for mine, he was furious (but I was giddy).
This is simply a great machine. I not only use it for pasta, but for rolling marzipan and gum paste for cake decorating. By all means, get this machine!
I love this pasta machine and it is much more than was described in Overstock's website.I have made 3 huge batches of my grandmother's raviolis and they were perfect thanks to my new pasta roller. It also was a huge bargain compared to the same machine at my local kitchen shop. Their price was 3 times that of Overstock's and they charged $49 extra for EACH cutter whereby I got 2 extra cutters with my pasta machine from Overstock. It cleans beautifully and is extremely efficient.Any one wanting to make home made pasta will love this machine.
This is an excellent product for the money. Sturdy, simple, basic, and it does what you need it to do. Pretty much exactly what they use in Italy. Please note that it comes with very minimal and very sketchy instructions, so, if you never used a pasta machine before you might have to consult a website. The knob for adjusting the width of the rollers is a bit hard to get used to, and the cranks for the rollers don't lock in very well, so you have to take care with them. They are meant to be easily removable for storage, and it's not a problem once you get used to it. The first time I used it, it made beautiful and delicious pasta, almost perfectly cut, but be sure that you have a good recipe; otherwise, you will not get good results. And be sure to consult a website re: technique.
I purchased the pasta machine to be used only for jewelry making. I immediately stripped it of most of its components leaving only frame, rollers and crank. In the capacity I purchased it for it meets my expectations, the price was great, and the delivery prompt. I've used Overstock.com many times and have always been happy with my purchases.
Sturdy machine. I did not read instructions before I washed it in hot water. Directions say NEVER submerge, oops. It does not appear that I ruined it. Process takes some practice, but machine did its job.
I used this pasta machine last night - first attempt at making pasta. I used a cup of flour and one egg - definitely not enough moisture and I had trouble working the dough. No worries it turned out. The pasta machine did a magnificent job of kneading the dough for me. I ran chunks through the #1 setting 6-10 times before eventually working it to the #9 setting. I finally just cut the sheets with a knife, ready to toss the first batch - cooked it, added a little parmesan cheese and a dash of chili oil and it was really good. So next time, more ingredients, maybe try the cutting blades and actually fix a sauce. There is hope for me yet! This little machine is a champ!
I used this Large 7" Pasta Machine only once, actually the gears of the main cylinder broke in one minute. The change thickness knob is clumsy, wobbling, light. Probably this device was designed for other use, not certainly for making pasta. Excellent the Overstock Customer Service, I had to return the product and everything went smooth and fast.
This came with a broken roller. Sending it back. However the weight and look of this item is really nice. Did try the cutting portion of this and works GREAT [since I didn't know about the roller until I tried to roll out my pasta. Rolled by hand and then ran through the cutting bldes.]
Will update this when the new one comes.

I just noticed this product is Final Sale, non-returnable, but does that include if the product is defective? I'm buying as a gift and I know she would not return unless something was wrong with the manufacture, but I need to understand this prior to purchase, thanksseayoo2 on Dec 11, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This QuestionThere are no answers to this question yet, be the first to answer it.
