Our new home has some great reclaimed wood features, so we wanted to complement those with some reclaimed wood furniture. We were very excited when we saw this neat table. Although, I don't think "table" is really the right term to use. It is more like a sideboard or a media stand, rather than a "sofa table" as per title. Definitely too high to be placed in front of a sofa. So my advice would be to be sure to check measurements before ordering. After delayed shipping (Shipping/billing address were not the same - as we had just moved and not updated it yet), we were very pleased when the item arrived and we got to open the box. Beautiful "old" wood, with metal accents. Just what we wanted. Unfortunately, two of the feet had been bent during shipping (?), and some of the holes were not lined up correctly, so it took quite a bit of tweaking and hammering to get it "built", and even so, it's not perfect (couldn't fix the bent legs 100%). Still, we did not want to go through the hassle of shipping it back and having to wait for a replacement, so we kept it. Without these issues, I would have definitely given the product five stars - certainly for the price.
I really wanted to love this item! First I have to say I ordered the table during the weekend and it arrived on Wednesday afternoon - 5 stars for quick shipping. I've never ordered a piece of furniture like this that I was unfamiliar with the manufacturer from the internet. Based on reviews I had high hopes. Yes, this table is very heavy but that does not mean quality. One of the brackets that the legs fits into was bent. That said I had to bend the metal portion back which is now throwing off the whole piece. There are nicks and dents on the piece itself. Ok, it's rustic, I'll live with it. The hinges & doors feel very cheap. This was initially purchased as an entryway piece but it will now be used as an entertainment center in a bedroom. Sorry, I really don't like to write poor reviews but I felt compelled.
While labeled a sofa table I use this as a TV stand. There are holes cut in the back for running cords. Pros: - Solid heavy piece. - Real wood. - Overall sturdily built. - 30 inches tall (this is a personal preference). - Rustic and industrial design. - Adding the legs and knobs on the doors was the only assembly required. Cons: - Packaging took a beating during delivery. Had a broken door. Os great customer service took care of it quickly and to my satisfaction. - Some of the wood distressing looks too intentional. - The legs seem tall in comparison with the piece making the space between the floor and bottom of the piece look odd. I will eventually add some baskets to take up some of the space. - The piece did give off a chemical smell when first removed from the packaging. It went away in a few hours. Notes: - The top of my piece is several different boards joined together. The wood is reclaimed and all the boards together do not make a completely flat surface. Its not enough to make a difference with my piece, TV sits just fine on it, but if they are all a little different (which I suspect that they are) it could for someone else. I would recommend and plan on keeping this piece for a long time.
