  • Shades are gray -- be prepared to buy new shades

The lamp shades are light gray and don't go well with the lamps. I got inexpensive shades from a local store and kept the lamps, but I would not have been able to use them unless I had found new inexpensive shades. Also, be sure that you want something almost chrome-like in appearance. The "champagne" color is accurate in so much as that it isn't quite gold and isn't quite silver, but it is VERY shiny and not like most items I've purchased that are described as "champagne."

    Much better in person

These lamps are so great! I loved the color in the picture, but in person...they're so much better looking! The color of the slate is subtle, perfect for my dining room that isn't too formal. I didn't pay attention the size of the bases, but very pleased at how big they ended up being. The shades are suede like and very classy. I would buy these in other colors if available and put them in other places of my house.

Just as shown on the picture. Using them in my living room. Very Nice table lamp without the overkill of some I've tried.

The Casa Cortes Red Lumina lamp set is different in style and does look like the picture. The style is noticeable in a room. These lights are not designed to use as room lights, they are a dim accent light, limited to a 60 watt bulb. I ended up placing the shades on my original table lamps that take a 3way bulb because I needed room lights. I took the shades from my original table lamps and put them on the new lamps and used them as accent lamps on my book shelves. This solution worked for me otherwise I would have sent them back. One lamp and one shade was damaged slightly from shipping, but also can place those areas against the wall so you can't see it. Would I buy these again, no. The quality of the lamps are not worth the price paid.
