These are very pretty plates. They are small, however I see no reason why these should only be used for "bread plates". They can also do well as display plates. Or to hold an item to display. I think they are very versitle and lovely

These are simply awesome and elegant.. Very detailed embossing from a decor at the palace in Versailles France. It is impossible to find great canape plates, but these are 100% pefect in size and style.. A rare find at a great price.

I am pleased with these "bread plates." However, the rim is "elevated" and takes up much of the space leaving a little less than 3.5 inches for your bread and butter upon which to reside. On the plus side; they can serve double duty as coasters, for which I mostly use them. They are a perfect fit for, La Rochere Versailles Large STEMMED Tumblers.
