We love our new LG washer and dryer. The only problem is that the buzzer letting you know when the dryer is finished is no where near loud enough. They are located on the second story with the bedrooms, but even if you are in the bedrooms, it is hard to hear. We heard about the remote monitor and decided to give it a try. It is still not at all loud enough. You need to be in the same room or pretty close to that room to hear it. There is no volume control. That being said, there are many good things about it. It shows what cycle the washer and dryer are on and the estimated finished time for each. With it placed in the living room on the main level, we can keep an eye on the time very easily in case we don't hear the buzz. I really wish LG would make a louder buzzer or give you a choice of volume. They should know these "older" ears don't hear as well as the younger ones. We found it a little pricey, but overall worth the money. It makes it a lot easier to keep up with the dryer.
