I ordered this room air conditioner as part of a remodeling job in an old cabin. Austin is very hot in the summer. The air conditioner works as advertised. It does the job of cooling the area quickly and efficiently. The only glitch I had was that the first unit arrived and did not work after I installed it. I promplty called Overstock.com and a delighful person who without prompting offered to send a replacement unit the same day! I was impressed with the customer service. The return of the defective unit was easy with the shipping label provided. I was impressed with the great customer support and the ease of dealing with the original defective unit. The replacement unit worked as I expected.Read More

I like the A/C Heater unit itself, but when I got it and tried to install it, I discovered the refurbishers did not give a *** to what they gave you to install the unit! I could not believe how horrible the quality control at this Refurbisher is. And I mean awful: I have never seen such mismatched parts and was given a manual that did not relate AT ALL to my unit. I had to go to the hardware store to buy screws and foam and parts to install this. Sure, they gave me screws, but they were cheap, soft metal WOOD screws that stripped and did not fit the METAL screw holes. They install manual as I said, was not even close to what I had. Believe me, I am very mechanically inclined and I have years of auto, home, and appliance repair, but the clowns at this refurbishing company ought to be fired. I could not install this in what should have been an hour and had to figure out that some of the pieces did not even belong to this A/C, or where the couple of correct brackets belonged. Good luck with this. But once I got the parts and figured out the position of the odd parts, the unit itself runs nicely. They could have used an inexpensive Fin Comb to straighten out the bent and damaged coil radiator fins - but they did not. The unit is good - The refurbisher was lax and practically criminal in their sub par quality. It is like you gave this to your 3 year old to assign parts to this. Overstock did give me a $25 credit or the missing parts. But I discovered an almost identical except for one digit difference in the model number for $90 less.Read More
This product works great, but the dimensions were wider than what was posted, so we had to cut out more brick on our home to make it fit! I cannot stress how important this is - to have the correct dimensions on something like this when ordering. That's the reason I would not recommend this to a friend because it took so much time and effort to make it fit.Read More

FAQs about Window Air Conditioners
Window air conditioners can be a life saver in the summer months. They provide a comfortable escape from the hot outside temperatures. Window air conditioners are especially helpful in reducing heat-related health issues and making sleep more restful.
How to Install Window Air Conditioners
You can beat the heat without sending your air conditioning bills through the roof. One way is to cool an individual room with a window air conditioner, instead of the entire house, and make it a cool retreat. Air conditioners and heaters can be used to control temperature in a single room without adjusting your home's main thermostat. Most window air conditioners are built for single-hung, double-hung and side-sliding windows. So, you'll need to select an air conditioner unit that fits your window type. These steps will help you to install your window air conditioner properly.
Common Questions about Window Air Conditioners
A great way to beat the heat is by installing a window air conditioner in your home or office. Using individual air conditioners and heaters in your home can take the load off of your central heating and air conditioning system, providing you with significant energy savings over the course of a year. Here are some frequently asked questions about window air conditioners and how you can use them in your home.
Air Conditioner Air Filter Fact Sheet
Your air conditioner operates by drawing in air, cooling it and then releasing it into your living area. Whether you use a portable air conditioner or a window unit or you have central air conditioning, your air filters will need to be periodically checked and changed. After a while, airborne dust, debris, pollen and other particles may clog your air filters. A clogged air filter forces air conditioners and heaters to work harder and may result in higher energy costs. Dirty or damaged air filters may also shorten the life of your air conditioner. Here are a few facts about air-conditioner air filters help you get the most out of your air conditioner.
FAQs about Portable Air Conditioners
On a scorching summer day, portable air conditioners can make your room a refuge from the heat. Whether you are short on space, need a little extra cooling in a problem area or just want to keep your personal space at a constant, cool temperature, portable air conditioners are the solution to all your summer woes. Unlike a window air conditioner that needs to be attached to a window or central air conditioners that can sometimes struggle to reach each corner of the house, portable air conditioners can follow you anywhere in the home. Room air conditioners are relatively easy to use, but here are a few common questions to help you use them efficiently.
Where to Use a Portable Air Conditioner
You can beat the heat without sending your air conditioning costs through the roof. Just use a portable air conditioner to keep areas of your home cool. Air conditioners work by using either evaporative cooling or refrigerant compressors to cool air. Instead of cooling the entire house, a small, portable air conditioner cools the room you're in at the moment. Even if you have a central air conditioner for your home, you can still benefit from using portable air conditioners.
