This was highly-rated by a national consumer review magazine, ahem, so I bought it . It does indeed drink up the water from the air and operate remarkably quietly, as advertised. But the design features are above and beyond the call. When you pull out the bucket, a handle is revealed that swings up for easy carrying. When you pour it into a sink, there is an angled and fluted pouring spout carved into one corner, so it never spills and drains both evenly and completely -- no residue left sloshing at the bottom. And when you want to clean it, as bits of mold and fungus grow on the standing water, the entire top panel detaches so you can reach in with a brush or dish cloth and give it a good scouring, even with big hands like mine. This company, of whom I had never heard, deserves high praise for excellent design of an outstanding machine.

I live in the Chicago area in a snd floor codo. My master bedroom is never warm and always cold and damp. I also suffer from sinue infections. I read an a health website that it might be good to use a dehumidifier so I bought this unit. The unit is heavy but it moves easily over the bedroon carpet. When I turned on the unit it registered a humidity level over 60%........ I could not believe how fast the room warmed up and the dampness left the air. I have already told a neighbor with the same issue that they need to buy this product. Only negative is it is noisy... but I turn it on in the afternoon until I go to bed and it does the job. Removing the water is easy and cleaning the screen is also easy. I wish I new about this sooner

I am using the dehumidifier daily. I think it works great. Can't tell it was refurbished. It has a nice look to it. At startup it has an odd sound but goes away quick and works great. Happy with it so far even though I've had it less than a month.

The LG dehumidifier was easy to set and was better than I expected. I've had the unit working now for approximately a month and it's quite and very efficient. The unit has two auto time settings which makes it a hands free operation.. Set it and forget it. I highly recommend this product.

I ordered two of these units. The price on Overstock was significantly cheaper (40% less) than the major box stores I researched (Home Depot, Lowes) for similar brand name dehumidifiers. I hooked one unit directly to a drain, however the other unit has to be manually emptied due to its location. The units easily remove 6+ gallons of water a day from the air. The mildew smell in my basement was gone within three days. One unit is very noisy, the other runs very quietly, but I am happy with the performance of both. The reservoir holds about three gallons and is easy to empty and carry. All in all, I'd recommend this unit for most remote (basement etc) uses but probably not for a busy living area because of the noise,

65 pint LG dehumidifier removes a lot of water from the air---but--it was a "refurbished" unit and it makes a LOT of noise. Fan vibration, an occasional "klunk", and I have to turn up the TV when it kicks on . This makes me nervous and I question the long term durability. I would have returned it, but it is a big-heavy unit and shipping would havr cost an arm/leg so we will just hope for the best. It does remove moisture well had has lots of nice features.

The reason I did not give this product a higher rating is that it produces is fair amount of heat in the process of removing moisture from the air. Since the dehumidifier was purchased for use during the summer months, it is not as helpful to us to have added heat introduced from an appliance. This product was advertised as low temperature moisture removal. Perhaps I misunderstood.

This dehumidifier does the job and a very good job at that. The only "complaint" is that it is a little noisey.... ours is down in the basement so it does not matter all that much.

This was the best buy for my basement. I had some drywall put in and it was taking days for it to dry. I purchased this dehumidifier and it worked great! The air doesn't feel as damp and is quite comfortable. Actually, it feels like I'm on the main floor of my house and not in the cold basement. I like the auto shut-off so I just leave mine running and it kicks on whenever the humidity gets over 60%. The tank is a good size and it takes about 2 days to fill up, which tells you that I have a lot of moisture in my basement. I'm looking into trying to figure out the drain so I can have it drain directly into my sump pump, which will totally eliminate the need to contanstly empty it. If you're worried about the noise, it's actually not that bad. It makes the same sound as the furnace...just on a smaller scale. And since it's not running constantly, its not that big of a deal. Although, I'll take the noise over excess moisture any day!

I was looking for a value priced dehumidifier for my basement. I choose this refurb because it had excellent ratings when new. The system works fine but the display is a little goofy - says on high when on low and I'm not sure the humidity reading is accurate. But it works great re getting the moisture out and I dont care about the display. I only empty it once a day and it is always full after severl hours anyway. If you want it perfect, buy a new one. I chose Overstock as the source because the shipping is such a great bargin!

I have been very pleased with the performance of this product. The digital readout is a nice feature and it seems to be less noisy than previous models I have purchased. Great buy...

Shipped to me in just 2 days which was unbelieveable. Works exactly as advertised and the 65 pint bucket is great so you don't have to empty it every day. It is as loud as I would expect for a dehumidifier. If it runs continuously it does put out quite a bit of heat. But we are using the 2 or 4 hour on/off timer and that seems to cut down on the heat. Definitely recommend this product!

So I should have figured this out before I bought it but their is probably a really good reason Overstock has hundreds of these refurbs. Mine worked amazing for the first 100 days. It detected the moisture and was able to take my basement from 65% to 40% in a day. However. After 100 days it decided to quit working and you only get a 90 day warranty from the refurb. I would avoid this product.

I purchased this LG dehumidifier after our basement was recently flooded. Our old unit tried but just couldn't keep up with 2 feet of water! The unit was a refurb in perfect shape and it does a great job of removing the humidity. A little sound from the fan but not bad at all considering its in the basement.

My humidifier arrived very quickly. It was easy to set up and get running. We bought a refurbished one and it looked great. We use it in our basement and it's doing a wonderful job. If I had to complain about anything I guess it would be that it does have a loud hum (like a washing machine) but it's in a spare room and it doesn't bother us. Great appliance.

I have had this unit for a few months and love it. My mother in-law even decided to get one. We run it 24hrs a day and it is still working great. About as loud as a fan so we do not mind.

Good dehumidifier.....It showed up timly and has been working ever sence. It really removes the water.

The article arrived at the perfect time and is working beautifully.
