We purchased this unit for our sons dorm room. The room is about 14x10 The set up was ridiculously easy. The unit is self evaporating so there are no pans to empty. We plugged the unit in and it immediately started blowing out freezing cold air. Within 1 hour the temperature of the room had dropped significantly. I checked with my son a week later and he says it is the best purchase we have ever made for him. I am pleased as punch!

The product arrived on time, and works great, The remote did not come with batteries so you will proabably need 2 AAA batteries on hand and the box is large, I had it delivered to work and it was much easier to take it out of the box and roll it down to my car as there are 4 caster wheels on the bottom rather than carrying the 72lbs box. Works Great, Good Purchase, Good Price.

Great product. For years we have struggled to find just the right air conditioner that could cool 2 rooms at once. When I saw this, I told my husband that we needed to purchase it. When it arrive, we immediately set it up which was very easy. Within one hour of operation, the two rooms were instantly cooled. We had a very comfortable summer as a result. Thinking about purchasing another for the upstairs bedrooms. Great find!

This product took a couple of days to really start working to really cool. I think it need to extract enough moisture from the air to begin cooling. Now it works fine to cool our 20X14 sun room. We're happy.

In Tx this year we are having day after day of 100+ temps. Placing this unit in strategic locations has been a great way to supplement our central air unit on those100+ days and save on cooling costs. This unit is very good in our bedroom.

Works well in a small room, but has a tough time cooling an entire floor. a little noisy, but nothing unexpected. Looks nicer than most AC units that i've seen. The install kit is pretty flimsy ( part was shattered when we received the unit), but easy to install- it took me about 10 minutes to have the unit up and running.

The attachments are a little janky - ducting and window mount are both low quality. But the main unit is compact and solid. When I first turned the unit on, the unit started blasting cold air right away. The noise level is pretty high, but performance at this price usually does. Great for a small to medium size room that not used as a library.

Good product for the price but not great. Exhaust didn't fit into the window as well as I had hoped but besides that no complaints.

This unit is MUCH bigger than I imagined, and it doesn't move the quantity of air that I would like it to move. That being said, although it takes some time, it does cool off the room and keeps it cool if you keep the unit running. The one problem I have is that the installation kit is really junky. The plastic pieces are flimsy and they have don't fit my window frame. It's like they were made for a very specific window type, and my window isn't that type, so there are these angled pieces that are supposed to be snug against the frame, and they are not. I turned it upside-down and it fits a little better, but the window can't fit down snugly on top of it, so there is a crack where hot air can get in. Also, the pipe is wider than the piece that fits under the window, so it hits on the windowsill, which makes it angle up, and forces it to pop out of the hole... especially since i have to really push the window down tight to try and close the gap between the window and the filler-panel. It is a life-saver for my converted attic space, and I like that I'll be able to store it away for the fall and winter, but they fell short in designing the installation kit.

Overstock was great with shipping...ok. The product itself was a refurb, but it looked like I picked it up off ***. I had to cut down about a foot of the hose because is was smashed along with some other things. This was probably the worst condition of a refurb product I've ever bought...I've bought plenty of refurb stuff. As far as the performance, I wish I would have done some calculations beforehand to determine efficiency. It is not really efficient at all. The 9000 btu rating is a theoretical rating because the machine takes in about 400cfm of air, pushes 200cfm back into the room cold and then about the same amount out the window. so in essence you are taking in 200cfm of outside air (say at 85F) the whole time you are trying to cool the room. It takes a long time to cool a room. IF you leave it on automatic the fan goes as well after the compressor stops. This cools the hose and system inside as well...but at this time it's still pushing that 200cfm out the window and it has to be replaced by 200cfm somewhere else. It's super inefficient like that. Makes the room heat up really fast. Maybe this has a place in a large room, but I am disappointed with the performance. shame on me though, I should have done my calculations beforehand. realistically, the 5000btu window unit we have does a better job at cooling the room.
