this puppy does the job perfectly
This replaced a worn out 5000 btu unit which was cool only. It is in my 8 X 10 workshop and does a fantastic job. We have had some unusual changes in weather here from cool to hot and back again and this LG came through like it says it does...........keeps the room warm or cool very comfortably. The energy saver feature in cool mode is going to be easy on the utility bill for sure because it shuts down completely when the desired temp is met. We have a larger LG cool only unit in our garage and it also has the energy saver feature. I am convinced that LG is a work horse that does the job!

Quiet, powerful
This unit was easy to install and has the advantage of having both heating and cooling. I've only had it for 2 days, so I can't tell how expensive it is to operate. It is quiet and powerful. However, the weakness of window air conditioners is that you need a fan to circulate the air or any good-sized room will not be heated or cooled evenly.

Cools a 125sq-ft room nicely. The unit survived the Overstock.com poor shipping.

refurbished LG 7000 mediocre
Refurbished heat and cool window unit was described as gently used or simply returned merchandise. Not True. The entire unit was banged up, looked as if it had been dropped (several times). The fins on front and back were VERY bent. I could have taken my chances on buying a used unit from the want ads for a lot less. I'm giving it a fair rating because it does work, for now.
